PS4 Franchise to PS5

Hello everyone. I could use some help on a couple of things:

I don't understand what "linking my account" means. Do I need to do this to carry over to PS5 from PS4?

I've been playing a Franchise on PS4 since MLB 22 launched. I received a PS5 today, and I want to know if my franchise, stubs and player cards will carry over. I also purchased a PS5 version of the Show 22 in case I have to start over.
It is my understanding that even if I insert my PS4 version of the show into my PS5, that I WILL NOT be able to create a stadium for my DD team. I will have to use the PS5 version. The more I think about it, I should probably scrap my PS4 version and just begin anew on the PS5.
Any information will surely help & be appreciated. Thank you for your time in this matter. -
