I think Billy Wagner is the next boss. 7x All Star, Orange silhouette lefty. Thoughts anyone?
You would be correct. There is only 2 left handed 7x allstars on orange teams in the game and the other one you can get for 15 event wins.
I'm proud of you Eric you are getting better at this -
Billy Wagner? Yeah buddy. He will be quite the 1-2 punch with 99 Chapman

I think Wagner is right. He always has a great card, but I can't help but be at least a little disappointed. When they called the program "Back to Old School" and revealed Lou as the first boss, I was hoping it was going to actually be "Old School" bosses. Dudes who debuted in, like, 1960 and earlier.
It's nearly September and we still need end-game cards for Jimmie Foxx, Walter Johnson, Cy Young, Lefty Grove, Christy Mathewson, Spahn, Kiner, Feller, Babe, Irvin, Honus, Musial, Mantle, Aaron, Eddie, Duke, Killebrew, Doby, Pee Wee, Whitey, and probably a whole lot more I'm forgetting right now. Not to mention all the guys from one generation after that, like Seaver and Carew and Vida and probably 25 others.
Where are the good cards?!?
-
@Ericulous1_PSN said in Back to Old School program Thursday:
Alright, my guess is there will be 4 bosses. I'm going with:
Lou Gehrig (obviously)
Bob Gibson
Vida Blue
Joe MorganI REALLY want a 99 Gibby.

It has Oakland Coliseum in the back ground looking at every A's great only one who has 7 all star selections is fingers which wouldn't be him as he was a program card already and a righty. To me old school is 70's and back Could be Wagner but would not consider him old school. Only 2 A's greats throw left handed and would be considered old school and are in the game. That is vida and Grove. But both have 6 all star selections.
Depending on what they consider prime years length Lou's 1930-1934 was probably his best years.

They should get the rights for some negro league players families would probably love to have them in the game and bring more attention to the negro leagues. Or they should get the rights to Rube Wadell.

I thought it was Vida at first but he's only had 6 ASGs. I think it's like Cano at Fenway, the ballpark isn't the right team. Plus they said it's a Takashi card and we know Vida will be a MS because of the leak.

I haven't paid for stubs in 3 years but I would fork over some dough for a Josh Gibson

They just posted a picture of a bunch of milestones cards for last week's hot collection and his was the only one not yet released. They removed it and reposted without him. But we all know.
I guess a leak is a little extreme. We'll call it a flub.
-
Three left handed pitchers have 7 All Star appearances that are in the game.
- Wagner (had orange in Astros jersey)
- Newhouser (had orange in Tigers jersey) but he was just released as a 98
- Chapman (no orange) and just released in Extreme as a 99
I say its Billy the Kid
Good call Eric and Dragon

I remember back in the old show days when they had golden era teams and silver era teams. They had Satchel Paige in the pen, but Dimaggio, Speaker and Hodges.
They should bring some negro league players in it would be a nice thing for them to do. They could have really made it a huge thing in 2020 when it was the 100th anniversary and there was not live baseball. I would like to have Cool Papa Bell snagging fly balls with Griffey or Mays in the Outfield

I would really like to believe the SDS has tried to do this and they will either be implementing this feature in the next year or so, or that for some reason the rights are too difficult to untangle. It's possible a lot of those guys signed away their likeness rights and maybe that's making it a headache? Who knows. It would be cool if they wait until they can add a LOT of Negro Leagues players all at once, so we can collect a full series kinda like Future Stars or something.

So if this holds the same pattern as the other programs we get to pick 3 of the bosses correct? Because so far i'm taking both Wagner and Gehrig.

They just hinted at the 3rd....it's Chipper. Tough choice. I'll be buying 2 and picking Lou.

Yeah, for the first time, I want all 3 bosses. Not sure which I will pick but will surely buy the other 2.
