Smoltz Flawless...is coming

I hope it’s a 99. Knew I was saving these stubs for a reason.

The reliever card would be better than his best started card, that's why I want him. He'd be like the diamond Nen card last year, just a slightly slower fastball. Killer splitter, great slider and a change-up...unless they like and give him a two-seam, which he never threw.

Doubt it's a 99, but should be really good. If I remember correctly SDS said it's really hard for relievers to be a 99.

He'll be a 94 overall, mark my words

Maybe he can throw 7 pitches.

The fact that Eck was only a 97 last year pretty much proves that. I believe there were only 6 99 overall relievers last year, two of which were finest and 1 that didnt deserve to be a 99(Kenley)

Way too early for 99s. Releasing 99s at this point would render all the cards below worthless, which have yet to be released. This game is meant to be for the long-haul. It's not about the destination, but the journey to get there.
It's my belief that each month will see a +1 overall added, with 99s starting to be in the wild around September or October. Obviously this doesn't include collections, or xp rewards.
With that in mind, it's my belief Smoltz will be a 92 or 93, possibly a 94.

99 Wagner? or are you talking strictly RP?

Smoltzie at CP was one of the best ever he saved 55 games in 2002 which was his first season as a closer he had a 3.25 Era which doesn't sound great but his 2nd appearance on the year he gave up 8 ER in an inning. The next 78 IP he gave up 21 ER and saved 55 games...which is right around a 2 ERA. in 2003 he pitched 64 innings with a 1.12 ER only 8 runs allowed and 48 hits with 8 BBs 2004 2.80 Era with 45 saves.
I don't know what kind of card it will be but if it is gonna be his only RP card it should be 98+ Hitters didn't have a chance the three years he closed. He was 35, 36, and 37 yes old those years...

I want him! I can't go 12-0 and with how poorly this game plays, i have ZERO interest in trying. Guess i'll pay for him...
Why would you give money to a game that you just admitted plays so poorly? I'm sticking to March to October until they fix it, but I'm not holding my breath.
Signed: Someone who used to drop money on this game.

He had a 128 ERA+ in 2002, 385 in 2003, and 156 in 2004.
128 and 156 ERA+ is really nothing special for relievers. 385 is very good though.
Here’s some other notable years from other relievers for comparison.
2016 Zack Britton: 803 ERA+
2018 Blake Treinen: 531 ERA+
2003 Eric Gagne: 337 ERA+
1999 Billy Wagner: 287 ERA+
2008 Mariano Rivera: 316 ERA+
2012 Craig Kimbrel: 399 ERA+
2017 Andrew Miller: 319 ERA+
2015 Wade Davis: 448 ERA+
2017 Kenley Jansen: 315 ERA+As a side note, people don’t realize just how incredible Britton’s 2016 season was lol.
