Only average at best so far, but this is just his 2nd year and he hasnt had a breakout yet.
definitely a good chance of that in hitting friendly CBP. 4 years of control for just an almost ML ready catcher blocked by JT.
This was a steal(though it fits CALs needs so prob mutually beneficial)
DFA Odubel for it, not sad to see him go, always seemes to me that he should have been better than he was and he just kept getting in his own way. -
Twins actually went out and got pitchers. I don't believe it.
-
I’m happy with the moves the Reds have made. With all the young talent we have now, at least some of them have to pan out. Time will tell but I’d say we were one of the winners of the deadline

So many prospects went to the Reds in the last 3 days, will see if any work out but at least you got players *cough *cough Cubs.

The Cardinals have traded Harrison Bader to the Yankees for Jordan Montgomery.
I am kind of sad. I know that we desperately needed pitching but I really liked Bader. He was a human highlight reel in CF with all of his diving and sliding catches (even though we know that MLB The Show players hate those catches)
-
So the Cardinals starters will be
Wainwright
Mikolas
Quintana
Montgomery
Hudson (probably)Some of those players who have been making spot starts move back to the bullpen.

I don't mind it if the player has 95/99 speed and good fielding which he does. I just don't like it when it's a player that doesn't make sense making that kind of play.

I'm sad to see Bader leave also. He was an exciting player to watch. The reality of it though is that Dylan Carlson has the potential to be a much better player than Bader. He's already shown flashes of what he can do in the field and at the plate and should continue to improve. With him being the player that the Cardinals wouldn't throw in to trade for Soto, he'd better. I'd love to see him prove it to all of the Cardinal fans hating on him right now.
My Mom is NOT happy though. Bader was her favorite player.

I’m happy with the trades the Cubs did make. Solid returns on paper. Particularly excited about Wesneski and Brown. The Cubs have a ton of minor league pitching to play with after the deadline and draft. Hoping Carter Hawkins can develop some Klubers.
Mixed feelings on Contreras. If they can resign him I’m thrilled. He’s the one piece I really wanted to keep from the WS team, but I have doubts that he resigns.

Here's the thing though. Carlson could turn into a monster and all the people that have been bashing him the last few days will pretend that he is their favorite player and they always loved him from the start.
In the end I hate to see Bader go but Matz is out for the season, Flaherty is questionable and even if he does get back he will be rusty. The Cardinals needed pitching.
-
I get the sadness at losing Bader. Fun player to watch with all the hustle. But I think Montgomery helps you win more than Bader. You have a really nice OF even without him.

Angels werent done.
Phils got Thor for Moniak and a prospect.
I hope Moniak does well, in ST he won the starting CF job and looked like he finally put it together only to break his hand and there just wasnt any playing time for him after that. -

As much as I hate seeing Bader leave St. Louis it makes me happy to see all the Yankee fans on twitter go ballistic over it.
