I really wish I had something positive to say about the game
-
Maybe the people who make the card art? That’s it.
-
So why are you playing?
-
I mean at minimum conquest sim speeds, Mini seasons, and saved event lineups are positives, no matter what your thoughts on everything else is. Even though it's 2 offline modes and event lineups get abused to use the same pitcher over and over they are still positives

I have a great experience playing offline
-
Conquest sim times being sped up is nice. Event lineups saving is also a positive
I may be in the minority but I also like the way they’ve progressed to releasing 99s this year. It’s allowed me to use more cards than I normally would
As far as gameplay? Foul balls/tips are still an absolute joke. Can we please remove the outer PCI?
Bad swings have got to stop being rewarded with bloopers so much. Reward good/good a little more and the game would be much better imo

For me, after a two year layoff, I think this year's game just has lack of staying power.
Missions are repetitive and boring, the rewards are not 'blow me away' players.
The content is a lot of diamond nobody's.
Yet, the Braves can find 212 million reasons to make Austin Riley a diamond, but SDS can't. And the Clutch reward card...that one has made me decide the grind just ain't worth it.
The old 'Inning Missions' with 3 choice Diamond Players we're way better a few years ago (players were big names), and the old Team Affinity format was much more rewarding and had the staying power.
Just my two cents. -
I think the game is pretty good online if you want a h2h game but I wish the people who made it would communicate more and the people who played it communicate less.
-
Positives….
-Saved Event Lineups
-Dedicated BR Mission Cards
-Quicker sim for conquest
-Addition of Mini Seasons
-Earlier Addition of Rewind Packs
-Slower progression of overallsI think it is important to be able to discuss the positive and negative aspects of the game and there have been some positives this year.

Saved event line ups are a huge W imo.

Positives : everyone capture them already…event lineups, conquest sim speeds, mini seasons, And I also like the format where they released high cards slower and changed TA programs so people can’t get all 30 within an hour of release.
But online play is absolutely ridiculous. I hardly play it anymore as the outcomes are absurd. Foul balls on balls that should be bouncing on the plate or a foot out of the zone, home runs on balls a foot inside, it just doesn’t mirror any type of real baseball physics. It’s quite embarrassing for the developers.

Diving is still broken, the amount of RBI singles I get taken from me with unrealistic diving catches is off the charts

Positives - staying in Sub 500 level in Ranked = pulverize opponents mercilessly
Negatives - too many to count

Probably because it’s the only baseball game out there and I already paid for the digital deluxe so I want to get the most out of it while I can since this is mostly likely my last year playing.

The content is a lot of diamond nobody's.User profile says you joined in 20 so you can be excused for not knowing that in 18, they did exactly that. Everyone thought it was AWESOME … until a couple of months later when they realized the best cards had already been released and there was little left to play for the rest of the year.
(And if you think todays missions are boring, try “Collect 167 hats”. [Sidebar: I made a KILLING flipping hats/jerseys/bobbles that year so I didn’t mind one bit. But if the market isn’t your thing, I can see how it’d get tedious and infuriating.])
When you say “things can’t get any worse… yes. Yes they can.

I think this is very real for a lot of players. I was having this discussion with my 17 year old son who is a World Series player. He has gone to Animal Crossing instead of The Show and doesn’t understand how I can touch the game at all. It’s a baseball video game with big leaguers…simple as that. The only video games I have ever consistently cared to play are baseball video games. It is easy for people to say “leave” or “play something else”, but some people truly only care to play a baseball video game. For those people, they are going to have good and bad things to say about this game and they are going to want to see better versions of it.

Conquest sim speed means nothing. The entire mode is a complete waste of time, I don’t care how “fast” they are, the 34,521 territories I “conquered” are an irrelevant waste of time. Mini seasons should have directly taken over conquest but instead it’s updated every 6 weeks lol.
Content is extremely boring, they throw packs at you like crazy but none have any value so opening them is more boring than exciting. The program is nearly worthless with the amount of boosting going on leaving people with no real interest in finishing it anytime soon,
The single good thing is the sinker being an appropriate pitch again. Still extremely unbalanced compared to every other pitch but it’s a start. It’s completely nullified by the terrible fouls, leaving even worse gameplay.
The amount of cards is cool, but I’ve never considered that content, how we unlock them is and it’s the most stale it’s ever been

you are absolutely right mate - personally what i have done this year is only play ranked and events - some baby conquest stuff early in the year but never now - it makes the game more palatable

Just my two cents.I absolutely don't think the old team affinity format had more staying power, without question more rewarding. Everyone rushed to finish it by exchanging etc, a lot of us were done within days if not hours of the drop

You see, the thing is, " For those people, they are going to have good and bad things to say about this game and they are going to want to see better versions of it." applies to everybody, not just the people who criticize or play just because it's baseball. I don't think if you asked someone, "hey do you want to see a better version?" that they would say no
I think we all (me included) lose sight of that on the forums a lot. If you praise the game, you are a fanboy, if you criticize the game, you just need to get good.
I tend to praise the game far more often then I criticize it, and while most of it is because I believe it is a fairly decent game, though a bit stagnant on improvement, it's also to sort of balance out the people who only come and say negative things.
Which of course begs the question why I feel the need to do that. I guess just like in life, it's hard to find a balance, we all tend to flock to our own extreme sides.
