I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a lot of positive feedback when everyone found out Brett was the first big collection reward, but anyone who has him or who faces him knows he’s the best position player in the game.

Cutch has a great swing and with juiced attributes he will be amazing as well. I hope people don’t go after him so I won’t have to face him as often.

Not excited about Cutch at all as a player but hoping his card's stats make up for it.

Hate it, I'd prefer a legend. But I obviously only speak for myself. I had been buying up a few cards in anticipation of this, now I can hold off because I will probably not even use the card when I get it.

Because they call it a legends + flashback collection, after Brett (legend) I had anticipated a flashback, similar to the mookie release last year.

They call it that because you need to collect the Legend and Flashback cards to complete it.

Sure, which supports the idea that you’d also get rewarded with legends and flashbacks. Simply noting the observation of mookie last year, and my expectation that we were getting a flashback following Brett.

His Sig Series from 19 was one of my favorite cards the whole year it crushed an so will this one. Most won't be excited but I think he will be on another level

Makes sense, but if it had to be a flashback, how about a player who will be going into the HoF? I'll be bias and say I'd have loved a 99 Votto. Not that anyone else wants another LH 1B.

People would be freaking out if the reward was Votto…and not in a positive way.

Right, because I can only speak for myself. Just because I hate it and would rather see Votto or another future HoF player doesn't mean I expect everyone else to feel the same.

I think this is a tough one because you either love his swing or you really don't. I also think the position makes it tougher, Lot of competition. And one thing is, not just the attributes but the quirks......I have noticed the All Star cards have a lot of quirks and some of the ones with good quirks REALLY perform. Honestly would rather have a card with -5 in a categpry (power vs L, etc) but the breaking ball and dead red quirks (also like the night player quirk because I like playing night games). I like Cutch but I've been around baseball for almost 50 years and there are a lot of players SDS could have given us as the collection reward that would be more appealing than Cutch.Don't know if they have his rights, for example, but a Koufax card for the collection reward would be insane, Maybe I am biased but my Dad actually played sitck-ball in the streets of Borough Park with him (yes my family is from Brooklyn).

How can you even ask/answer this question without seeing the cards attributes

    Like seriously

Easily, nobody wants McCutchen as the collection reward, except maybe a fanboy like you.

Lol what a horrible horrible horrible horrible take

I hope you take your L with humility but also learn

    116/125 Contact

    106/115 power

    94 fielding

    83 Arm

    87 Speed

Lol Jeez talk about being wrong

The card itself is end game, there’s no doubt about it. It’s just a weird selection by SDS. I get the whole “these retro finest cards are juiced” but they are releasing an Andrew McCutcheon card that is rating wise one if the best cards they’ve ever dropped….and he was a real solid player but he wasn’t THIS good to deserve a card like this. But hey, the masses seem to like it so time to grind!

Without looking at what others think:

    Huge W from me!

He's a fun player to use, has (easily) one of my favorite swings in the game, he's someone I've been a huge fan of his entire career, and I think they did a good job of not making the collection too ridiculous but still make it challenging. It's renewed my interest in the game which was waning down just a bit.

See, that's what I like about this one.

We've all gotten plenty of time with players like Babe Ruth, Ken Griffey Jr., Mookie Betts, Mike Trout, Lou Gehrig, Frank Thomas, Roberto Clemente, David Ortiz, etc. over the years so it's cool we're getting a juiced card of someone the majority of The Show fans have a strong affinity for (no matter who you root for) that typically just gets niche cards that aren't going to make anyone's "God Squads."

And the thing is, McCutchen had a stretch of being consistently excellent -- so maybe if you broke it all down, he doesn't deserve these attributes but he's someone who just can't be accurately replicated in DD without giving him a nice boost in a few areas. IMO, we still haven't gotten to the point of completely breaking any semblance of real-life like games like NBA 2K and Madden have. It's just a suped-up McCutchen with defensive attributes that will allow him to be viable. They didn't have to "change" him into a player he never was/ever could be like say a Shaquille O'Neal card that can bury 3's or is ridiculously good at the free throw line or have Derrick Henry at QB.

Hopefully what I'm saying makes sense. Like, I can buy/believe this card. I can't believe the cards I cited as examples and even a lot of the weekly Topps Now cards.
