Someone explain to me how Brett or cutch is a let down? The cards are going to be incredible or in Brett’s case one of the best all year. Unsure beyond some weird personal vendetta against mccutchen why or how it can be a let down? Give us new cards = let down. Give us old cards = recycle players, give us op cards like Griffey = it’s too early or too late it ruined the game like degrom or Cabrera last year. I’m pumped for cutch,

The game just got real for some random Pirates fan who had no intentions of completing any big collections

There's been a boatload of good PIrate cards this year tbh.

Clemente, Cutch, and Reynolds in the OF
Mazeroski, Wagner, Peguero, &Stargell across the IF Henry Davis at C
Kiner, Suwinski, Chavis, Bay, & Parker on the Bench
    Bullpen has Melancon and Bednar
Cole is the only diamond SP I can think of.

    Don't forget that Prospect Cruz.

Disappointed but I’ll withhold judgement until I see the attributes. OF is stacked with HRD Soto/JRod and others but maybe they make this something special with power/contact/speed. Yet to see a Cutch card that compelled me to play with it so here’s hoping this is the first.

2012 he finished 3rd in the MVP voting. He finished first the next year. My bet is that picked 2012 because it will have a greater impact on his speed/steal ratings.

His MVP year was actually the 2nd worst of his 4 year peak. Both 2012 and 2014 were better seasons at the plate numbers wise

For me it was a knee j3rk reaction expecting a legend and getting an All Star. That said, I'm in complete agreement with you after reading what a lot of people have said and assuming his attributes are what you think they will be, this will be a very solid card indeed. Maybe some people are dying on this hill but I for one thought about it and am stoked to add him to my roster.

Well written, my friend. Summed it up perfectly.

The only negative with Cutch for me is that it may be a wait for Mantle, Mays and Griffey now to get there big cards again. Other than that, I think Cutch will be a cool card.

Some of you are missing the point.

Will he have juiced attributes? Of course. (though it would almost be hilarious if he didn't)

But are there literally dozens of better options they also could have given juiced attributes to?

    Hell yes.

I have every card besides Bellinger/Leiter so I'll be getting McCutchen by default.
But for those of you further away? I wouldn't kill myself grinding or especially wouldn't buy stubs for him.

This is still a huge L and I almost can't even believe it's real.

He’ll probably be amazing. These are the fun cards that we don’t see every year again and again. We haven’t had a OP Cutch card since like 17 when programs were actual program and not login enough days in rows.

Boomers who hate dreadlocks won’t be happy but there isn’t enough mayo in the world to keep them smiling anyway.

You mean the better options that I have used for 5 years playing this game? Griffey is like the textbook definition of fan favorite, I get it. But he has had practically the same card 5 years in a row. To me cutch is new and exciting. I could fire up any of the games that still have servers turned on and use the same 99 Griffey, Trout, and Chipper that have always been there

It’s kind of funny, we had 3 collections before Griffey last year: Mariana, Betts, & Kershaw……This board was rampant with how each of them were a big L on drop.

Brett far exceeded all of those 3 and was a total surprise, so it’s humorous people are melting down over this one before we even see the details just because it’s not one of the Meta legends.

It's a good point. Fun to see someone new get the spotlight. Last year cutch was a daily moment reward and I had a lot of fun with the card but Griffey came out right after and then Finest and cutch was forgotten. And I was using 6 different teams (1 for each division for Team Affinity) but Griffey and Cutch were in the same division. Oh well.

I feel like so many great players in history are considered unusable strictly because of speed (Kaline, Kiner, Musial, Stargell, McCovey, Banks, Boggs, Bench and on and on). It's a shame that guys like Buxton who finally made it to the All Star Game albeit with a .214 average are OP and Kiner and Stargell are laughed at. Oh well, just a random rant.

I get its not one of the main cards, but you know after 2020 mlb getting mantle, and last year chipper and david ortiz being availablee early, its actually fun to play with cards I wouldnt ever. cutch is getting his shot, now is there cooler names absolutely, but its a new spin on a card. like people have speculated any my personal guess will be 100-115 contact R, lefty max power and contact or close enough, and maybe 100 power righty. like its fun and for the same exact reason why ppl are flocking towards HRD soto, its a new spin on a card that makes it fun to use with otherwise youd never use a cutch card outside being a pirates fan

It's like seeing your favorite band in concert. If you're a true fan, you want to hear the deep cuts haha not just Jump and Panama every time.

That's a really bad analogy for always getting Griffey, Chipper, Mantle and Trout. I'm excited to see how he plays and I think I'll be able to pick him up at no or very low cost. Everyone meet back here after you've seen the attributes and know how he plays.

I expect this cards attributes to look a lot like 99 Trout. Not quite as good but very similar.

It will be more similar to mookie last year. Trout has reverse splits on his 99s

    We’ll see

Again Brett, Dunn, and Mazeroski have gotten massive boosts with the retro finest series. I really think it could be a great card. Exciting name? No. Could be the best outfielder in the game? Yes.

Let's be honest the Retro Finest cards are immortal lite cards with the boost they get

The immortals actual attributes really weren't that impressive in retrospect. We have seen better Awards and Signatures for Chipper, Griffey, and Vlad than their immortal counterparts. Babe's signature is the same as the immortal. The problem with immortals wasn't that their attributes were too boosted, its that the non immortal cards were terrible lol
