It’s time...

If you don't get that awkward animation where they overrun the ball and stab back to catch it say a prayer.
The fact that players can literally forget there is a ball that just hit them and not attempt to pick it up is a travesty. At least it's an even playing field though right

Welcome to MLB The Show 20 where fielding attributes don't matter and the bruises are plenty...
-
Chuck_Dizzle29 just reminded me that SDS considers a rating of 60 for each attribute to be the MLB average.
This means, of course, that even the bronze fielders should be able to catch routine flyballs.
A player wouldn’t even have made it to a major league outfield if he couldn’t catch a flyball. Hitting a 102mph is hard. Catching a flyball is easy. In this game it’s the opposite. Up is down, left is right, okay is better than perfect.
You patched fielding in ‘19. Please do it again for ‘20. We are losing interest. Fast.

Working perfectly as intended.

In a game last night I had trout under a fly ball that went right through him lol. Costed 3 runs and the game.
Interesting, a “flaw” in the game happening at the right time for you to lose the game?
And we have people saying this ain’t happening and we are making ourselves believe.

I mean it’s very rare. There are other factors that played into it. I walked a guy on a close full count pitch, and also hung a mistake to another batter. I’m not going to say it’s all on that one moment, but yeah I don’t think that trout should have a fly ball go right through him lol.
Most times, those mistakes are in big moments, but the outcome could have also been altered by making better pitches or having a better approach at different points in the game. We just like to deflect from sucking it up from time to time.

I understand, but bro, the ball went through your guy and cost you the game....you may be able to brush it off but some players don’t want games to be decided like that. And when it does happen, they come on here, share their story and are instantly attacked by being called conspiracy theorist and complaining.

I typically don’t try to complain because I’m confident in my ability to overcome it by lighting up their pitcher the next inning. Historically it makes me agitated and more focused when I make my next trip to the plate. Plus most players will be extremely careful with how they pitch so I typically get into great counts. I do agree it shouldn’t happen, but I’m also not the type of person to blame the game all the time... if that makes sense haha
Not saying that you are, but just trying to make a general point about my mindset haha

It sucks to see this happening but feels good knowing it’s not just happening to my guys. I had Mickey mantle run to a ball last night and it went in between his glove and his head. It rolled back to the wall and scored 3 runs for the guy.

If y'all remember, this happened in 16 all of the time. Fielding and Bunt Cheese were rampant. BUT hitting was good and competitive.

My Yelich Let a ball hit him in the back then he somehow turn around and caught it yesterday. Probably the 2nd time I’ve seen that happen this year
