Pitching in 20 Needs a Major Overhaul

Pitching this year is just plain bad.
I know I’m beating a dead horse here but I really hope SDS removes the terrible RNG outcomes to pitching for next years game.
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve hit my marks on the meter (analog) going down and up, only to have the pitch end up in a totally different location.
It’s impossible to throw a low change up or curveball below the zone. It either goes in the dirt or is hung in the lower third.
Had times where I get “early” on the meter and the pitch goes lower and vice versa. It’s a joke how much they took the control out of our hands for pitching this year.
Please SDS, take a hard look at pitching and make it better in 20

Have you not been paying attention? That Finest Javi screams we’ve improved the gameplay! Along with the 0:00 of gameplay they’ve shown, the open beta, and a message 6 months from now about how their very sorry but all resources were being used to bring this game to the new consoles.

Lol I’m not this pessimistic. I thought 19 was a great improvement from 18 in many aspects. Pitching was just not one of them.
Forsure made the OP out of frustration after a tough loss but the principle is still the same: pitching needs to be polished going into 20 and I hope SDS focuses on it just as much as hitting

Personally disagree with you on analog pitching needing to be more precise. Imo they improved it greatly in 19 . I actually can miss once and a while and walk someone , was way too dominating before. I actually think that they need to make it even harder to hit your spots.

I'm sorry, but by the looks of things you don't even play online. Your current rating is a flat 0 - so you're commenting as someone who solely plays vs the CPU.
However, if SDS were to make pitching more difficult, by all means do it, but then they better make sure that you're no longer punished with perfect input.

If I understand you correctly, you are saying I don’t count because I don’t play online ?? I am sorry but I don’t want the pitching to be dominant if I play another human or the cpu . I just want realistic results either way , if I make a good pitch great but if my movements are not perfect I should not be able to place pitches where I meant to constantly and that is exactly how it was before 19 and is still a bit too easy still .

What movement are you talking about?
Someone like you who does not play competitively will not understand the gripe that people have with pitching this year.
We do not want the game to give hittable pitches when we get perfect input to give the opponent easier pitches to hit. We want the game to play true and the better player to win.
I can be in favour of making pitching more difficult, but ultimately the game should still reward skill when it comes to competitive online gameplay.
To be clear, I dont want the game to give you a bone because you're less skilled.
Lastly, go look at the ERAs of all the top players... Clearly pitching this year is underpowered to a drastic degree.

Pitching offline vs. the CPU is night and day different (easier) than the way the analog meter and input results behave in online play. I can see how an offline player could consider it "good enough", honestly, I do. But the analog meter simply doesn't behave similarly at all in online play. It's not hard to locate at all vs. the CPU, but for some reason, anything you try to put below the strike zone, even in the dirt, will wind up thigh high to knee in the zone and get crushed, despite perfect input on the meter that should have resulted otherwise.

We’ll just agree to disagree there. Respect your opinion and input but pitchers with higher control ratings should be able to pinpoint more often than not

Are you talking about meter or analog pitching? Because with analog I can put the pitch where I want too often and the OP said analog
How about you play online first and then show us how you're able to get the pitches where you want them?

Lol can you provide input as to why you think it’s ridiculous? I genuinely would like to know your logic behind the comment

I'm pretty sure we're all talking about analog. When I say "meter", I'm referring to the analog meter.

My understanding is that the controls work the same online as offline and I just don’t want the game messed up because someone wants to cheese online to dominate others , if it doesn’t work the same online as offline then I apologize . I have zero interest to play garbage baseball online wether I am good or bad at it so that really doesn’t matter to me

the other guy already said it just re-read what he said and digest as you seem to still be confused

No worries, I figured you weren't aware. The physical controls are the same, but it behaves entirely differently, for some reason. It's hard to explain and I'd encourage you to see for yourself. I think we all want the same thing here, which is for user input to matter more when using analog.

Wholeheartedly disagree.
