Your absolute favorite cards in your lineup
-
I'm not looking for a list of who is "objectively" the best card in the game. More so, a few guys who you love using and perform incredibly well; basically who do you have the most fun with? Obviously, that could very well be someone who is considered "the best" but I just wanted to make it clear that's not what I'm looking for.
Now that I've got the disclaimer out of the way -- here's a few of my personal favorites this year:
-
Rafael Devers, 3B (May POTM)
He started a bit slow for me but since I've gotten used to his swing, I feel like every other at-bat is a no-doubter. The most amazing thing -- and really, the reason I wanted to post this topic -- is that this card has finally allowed me to break my struggles of hitting left-handed pitchers with left-handed batters. Plus, it just feels like he can punish literally anything you leave over the plate. I'm going for the George Brett Collection but I'm not so sure he'll replace Devers for me. -
Bobby Miller, SP (Future Stars)
He has such a smooth delivery; I just love working off his four-seam and slider. I've also been able to paint corners with him. In my opinion, he's the closest thing we have to a right-handed Randy Johnson in the game, as of this moment. -
Albert Pujols, LF (Awards / Chase Pack)
I feel like I'm so late to this party as I didn't prioritize giving this card a whirl until recently, when I was flush with Stubs and didn't have much to do with them. I'm glad I did though because through his first 30+ at-bats, I've got 8 HRs and have an average of .565. I know that won't hold but he's someone I'm going to find a place for -- even if he's just a bench bat -- for the foreseeable future. Right now, he's my starting left fielder. -
Steve Cishek, RP (Prime)
I knew I'd love this card as soon as I seen it on the Marketplace. I'm not even ashamed to admit that I paid nearly 40K in Stubs around the time he came out just so I could have him within the first day or so of the card being released. I've pitched him for 33 innings and he has a pristine 0.55 ERA. I know he's gimmicky as a submariner but I just love pitching with him. -
Austin Martin, CF (Future Stars)
Weirdly enough, it took me playing in my first Co-op game to use this card but immediately after the game, I bought him off the market and he's been one of my favorite bench bats and lefty smashers in the game.
Honorable Mentions:
Andrew Miller, RP (Breakout)
Chris Sale, SP (June POTM)
Vidal Brujan, 2B (Future Stars)
Dontrelle Willis, SP (Milestones)
Rob Dibble, RP (Rookie) -
-
90 Rod Carew, it's the same story every year. Best leadoff hitter ever. Bloop hits, weak singles, bloop doubles. He's a magnet for those kind of things. 35th person to get him p3
Also really enjoying this milestones Garrett Anderson card rn, 8 of 14 hits have been for xbh
-
MA Devers, FS Watson, 88 Piazza (but I got him to P5, so now I'm working on the 96 Piazza), FS Pratto, MA Alvarez, TO Musial, TN Berti, MA Sale (I got him to P5 already...that's how much I use him), FoTF Trout, Live Iglesias, Rookie Dibble, and TO Morgan.
My honorable mention are all of the June TN and MA cards - holy cow, it was fun using them in the program. That's why I love these programs so much. I find all these gems that I would have never of used.

The new Honus is so surprisingly good. Despite his power numbers he gets high exit velocities when the ball is squared up
I swear he also has a stronger throwing arm than what his attributes show. He has a cannon at SS for me and he’s just a great leadoff hitter
Can’t wait for his 99

I just got the TO Honus but haven't used him yet (I'm trying to get Watson to P5 first). Wagner was my favorite SS last year. I loved to steal bases with him and his power and arm were incredible.

I'm going to wait to see how these All-Star cards are, but MA Joc was great, although he's lost in the shuffle a bit.
TN Willy Adames and FOTF Mullins and Milestone Brock Holt are early faves. -
So far this year my absolute best performers have been:
2nd Half Jim Edmonds- what a beautiful swing and love going to the left center gap.
2nd Half David Justice- See above
2nd Half Gary Carter- man is he so much better than last year. I keep trying wo work in new catchers but he just keeps mashing.
Retro- George Brett- Took me a minute but now he's everything I'd hoped for.
Signature Randy- single handedly the only reason I can compete in events.
I also dig Devers and Yordan and many others but those first 3 are my big surprises so far.
-
Surprised me, but Liover Peguero. To plagiarize a bit (with the utmost respect) from someone who posts on this forum, the dude just loves smackin' dongs. So much fun to use that skinny little [censored]...

Colin Moran Topps Now
Alex Dickerson MA
Tony Gwynn -
Stan Musial 95- I am 17-18 with him so far with 8 home runs and most of the rest being doubles
Babe Ruth 97- Surprise, I can actually hit with this Ruth unlike past years
Alfonso Soriano 96 - I'm hitting over 400 with this card again with huge power numbers
Curtis Granderson 95 - Mostly used off the bench for me now but i love his swing
Carlos Santana 95 - hits rockets, since day 1 he has been clutch for me.
Pitching
Brian Wilson - My go to closer, i love his windup and pitch selection
Chris Sale - I love Chris Sale cards and this is no exception
Bobby Miller - The best future star pitching card hands down
Vida Blue - I just love his windup and can locate with him very easily.

This is why I wished our squad was as deep as the CPU's. Wouldn't be awesome to have all of these players on the same squad!
-
Prime George Springer- swing is butter
POM Devers- doing better with him than Brett
Babe Ruth- first Ruth I've enjoyed in the show
Topps Escobar- switch hitting demon for me
Havnt found many pitchers I would put on this list. The only one that has been on my squad all year so far is Randy.

Eduardo Escobar (TN)
Kyle Schwarber (monthly)
Jose Altuve (monthly)
Taylor Ward (monthly)
Seiya Suzuki (TN)
B. Reynolds (monthly) -
2nd Half Marte. He will not allow me to take him out of my lineup. This card is an extra-base machine. The 115+ Contact, with 80+ Power, and with 80+ Vision cards usually do very well for me.
-
All lefties:
Babe Ruth - always gets on base
David Justice - best all around
Eddie Matthews - Bomb Machine
Only Rightie:
Ronald Acuna Jr. - just takes bad pitches -

FS Gunnar Henderson has been an absolute machine for me. I put him at 3B and he is still a good defender. Absolutely love his swing.
