Spot on. Unfortunately in this point of "video game sports", online competitive mode is slowly vanishing so that everyone playing can get participation medals.. Hopefully one day another company makes an MLB game to force SDS to shake it up
As one of the worst hitters online I most certainly do NOT want a participation medal. I don't mind taking my lumps, and I have taken plenty so far, but I wouldn't mind a better matchup system. When I am at about game 25 online and my opponents on Sunday:
First game player was about 300-100
Second game player was sporting a world series flawless bannerThere is no way I have any chance of even competing, let alone win these games. For those saying "well you can work on improving things" that's great, but when you know you are going to get destroyed before the first pitch it takes any hope of fun out of it. Again, I don't mind losing, but they should be able to avoid blatant mismatches like this.

I finally give up. Over the years I’ve hung on and was able to overcome the [censored] and still been top 50(I’ve played a lot). This year, you can’t avoid their pre determined outcomes and fuckery. Game after game I am fighting two things. Countless times this year I’ve jumped up big on someone that can’t hit, and somehow it’s a tie game or they take the lead late. Errors, bad animations, you name it. I pray that sooner rather than later a company comes in and embarrasses the [censored] outta SDS.
I agree, gameplay is a step down in a lot of areas. But, MLB will prevent other companies from using MLB name/likeness/image. They've even come out and said it not too long ago...or maybe last year.

This is true but there are things they could do to improve overall game play. Reducing foul balls and making the player actually put the pci on the ball would go along away.
Sure they could, but I wouldn't count on it, at least not for 22.

Haha I’ve said the same thing to many, many people. Games uninstalled brotha. Skill means absolutely [censored] in this years game. Not for me

That’s what I’m thinking too. It’s not mentally healthy anymore for me. It makes me furious. I played pro ball, and this game has done a lot to keep me apart of the game(in a weird way). But this years version is so off, it’s only hurting me now.
This game certainly can push your buttons. The scripted comebacks/RNG, superman dives, foul offs until they hit a HR, the AI common/bronze pitchers painting at will, the bs odds on packs. It's maddening. I made the mistake of buying this game late and knew it would be the same stale game they've trotted out for years, nearly a decade. I tried to refund in the PSN but knew they wouldnt budge

Funny how when I watch good players they never have any problem with scripted comebacks/RNG and it doesn't effect the results in their game like it isn't a thing. But when I come to the forums every time someone gets an L it's scripted comebacks/RNG blah blah blah. Trust me your just not as good as you think

I’m 49-5 in ranked and can without a doubt say this game is way too random
Exit velocities and launch angles are all a dice roll. I can admit when I take an L by someone better, but there is just 0 consistency to this game in H2H play which just makes for a frustrating experience more often than not

Exactly, ignore tyler he is the forum troll. Even when hits are in your favor it is very random what leaves the park and what not.

I know I’m not great I can have a few of the wtf moments both in my favor and against me . But I enjoy baseball and playing. If the rumors of EA in 2024 is true I’ll try. But unless they clone what SDS is doing I’m not going anywhere
