Pitchers distance from batter!?!

Why do pitchers have different camera angles when pitching? Some pitchers look to be 5ft from batter while others seem to be the actual 60ft away. Does this have to do with ratings of pitcher and/or batter?
Sorry if this is an obvious question I should know but I have been wondering this for a while. -
