Wired vs. Wi-Fi made a huge difference for me. I can’t hard wire my PlayStation to the internet bc of where it is in the house. So I bought a product called “power line”. It plugs into your internet box and a standard outlet. Then you plug another piece into a different outlet that connects to your ps or Xbox. It works great and fixed a lot of my disconnect losses and laggy connectivity

Play the game and don’t care. My friends and I played this game any free chance we had online only, back in 16/17. Most of us were directional players that only played RTTS before then. Make sure you’re using zone hitting and either strike zone or strike zone high hitting view. Practice and playing the game is the only way you’ll get better.

I don’t have connection issues. I’m hard wired and when I check my connection I usually get get around 650-750 which is plenty. My connection isn’t an issue.

Your right that’s how I play I accept the fact I’m not great and keep it moving. If this was Madden then yeah I would be frustrated cause I expect to do great and win close to 90% of my games H2H.

I just played a H2H game and I swear someone at SDS saw my post cause I faced Christy Mathewson who had both the 12-6 and screwball. I got struck out 23 times but won on the 10th inning thanks to my CAP who went 4 for 5. The rest of my team really didn’t do much though.

No reason to strike out that many times unless it’s on legend

When a pitcher has off speed breaking pitches as primary you should start PCI down low

You can’t get beat by the fastball so at the very least you have to put that in play

I generally find that it’s a lot of connection issues, park lag and other things… Also I’ve noticed the ps5 controllers seem to be slight off PCI and timing wise from when I was on PS4 in 20.

You are new ,correct? most of this could be due to inexperience with the difficulty/ playing people, and those strikeout numbers will come down naturally over time as you build experience.

The best advice I have is take at least one strike, people don’t want to throw strikes, if you want to be a good hitter you need pitches you can actually hit. Also pick a zone in the strike zone and look for pitches in that zone. You don’t have to swing at and probably shouldn’t swing at every strike. I’m by no means great or even good but I definitely play better when I eliminate part of the strike zone and look for my pitch

This us good advice. Try not to swing at every strike, just focus in on a good portion of the zone and swing at those pitches. Also, practice on legend and then when you play head to head it will all seem more manageable.

A lot has to do with terrible servers. Some days are worse than others. Last night the servers were so laggy, I couldn't even play a conquest or mini seasons game... because it couldn't load the game. It's likely not your internet, because mine is great and this is the only game I have any issues with. I'm terrible at hitting, but going into custom practice and playing that on hof helped me.... I like to do it before I start playing DD to get my timing up to speed.

I just looked at my H2H stats and I been at bat 1902 times and struck out 982 times lol. I suck at timing fast balls high and in, breaking pitches that are low and away, but my biggest issue is curveballs and that 12-6 pitch that start up high but end up being dirt pitches. I struck out 26 times against a guy which a record for me but it’s not unusual for me to have close to 20 strike outs a game.

This ain’t a complaint thread cause it’s all on me I know I suck but any tips or game plans on not striking out so much?

Edit: I recently got a monitor last week that’s 1 MS response time but I’m always too late on fast balls a lot of times. I’m using a wireless controller could that be a factor? I heard WIRED controllers give better response time. Is that true?

Custom practice!!! Don't leave until you can recognize and hit the pitches you struggle with. Also, do it on a higher difficulty than you play on normally. Its not the most fun thing to do but you will get better in no time.

I do practice on legend and select certain pitches in certain locations. Don't change until I make solid contact five times in a row. When I am playing H2H I eliminate one pitch from things I swing at. If I were you I would do this with 12-6 curveballs since they are the most easy to differentiate and more often than not they are out of the strikezone. Or just look for one pitch in one location until you are at two strikes. Pick a different one every so often.

Taking more pitches is probably the best thing you can do. Pick a zone and pitch type, then don’t swing at anything else until 2 strikes. Realize that good players won’t give you anything to hit if you swing at everything.

Focus on picking up the ball as early as possible out of the hand to give yourself more time. Low lag won’t help you if you don’t pick up the ball until it’s halfway to home plate.
