Pitchers defensive?
-
No. It's fine as is. Also it depends on the human player too
-
It’s been this way for years; ridiculous and for the other guy, no human input needed
-
That's not true at all. There were times I had a ball hit up the middle and the defense automatically controlled my pitcher and didn't do anything. It went through for a hit or the shifted field grabbed it. Pitchers do not automatically field balls up the middle. It's based on your input or the pitchers reaction/fielding skill. Some pitchers are great at fielding but even they miss some.

This is another area that definitely needs tweaked. Every pitcher plays the position like Maddux on his best day. I would guess 70% of the balls fielded by pitchers would never be touched in a real game…they would get through for a hit or fielded by SS/2nd. There are about 5% of balls in play fielded by pitchers…if there are 20 hits by a team and all 27 outs were balls put in play, this would mean about two balls went to the pitcher on average. Considering some of those outs are K’s and most games do not involve 20 hits, this means a pitcher is fielding way less than two balls per game. My games involve way more than that.

Uh, no it doesn't. The pitcher's a vacuum cleaner on steroids in this game, and it's all auto-animation.

IT IS determined by the pitcher's fielding/reaction, but times 10. The only time you have to control the P for an out is on weak bouncers in front of the plate or pop ups. When it's a comebacker, it's 100% CPU and 100% overpowered. No human input needed for comebackers, hence the OP's (legit) comment. Bunch of Dominik Haseks on the mound.

Well I disagree. I've seen it. But we both have our opinions.

They can all play goalie for the avalanche, can we nerf this down please
Yeah it's in dire need of a nerf. Pitchers also outsprint guys like Luis Robert or Billy Hamilton...

Feels somewhat overdone to me. As mentioned, all fielders have a CPU driven initial reaction, and come-backers generally fall into that reaction window. They don't always field every ball hit back at them, but it seems like they do get what feels like an abnormal amount.

The pitchers are doing 360’ no look behind back catches in game this needs to be fixed and someone said been like for years I’ve been playing since show 19 it’s never been like this the pitcher is literally catching more crazy hits then any real defensive player
