Um looks like SDS hates* bad teams or teams with low number of all-star players.
Basically. Sarcasm*

Glad I'm a Red Sox fan
-
Yeah, Reds are always up there, sure there are a lot of guys I'd like to see added, but I really can't complain about Reds representation in the Show.

First off, your tally is incomplete. I can think of at least one card you’re forgetting about.
Second, we’re only a 3rd through the year so we don’t have the complete picture.
This sounds like a job for … The ShowStorian!
Stats for 2021:
Yankees: 59
Reds: 50
Dodgers: 47
Braves: 44
Orioles: 42
Cards: 40
White Sox: 40
Giants: 39
Indians: 38
Athletics: 38
Red Sox: 38
Mariners: 37
Rays: 36
Brewers: 35
Angels: 32
Astros: 32
Cubs: 31
Mets: 31
Twins: 31
Blue Jays: 29
Padres: 29
Phillies: 29
Nationals: 28
Pirates: 27
Tigers: 27
Marlins: 26
Royals: 26
Rangers: 25
Rockies: 21
Dbacks: 16 (lol)
Free Agents: 1Ideally, you’d include a regression analysis to factor in the strength of the cards (giving out a whole bunch of 86s isn’t as good as releasing a few less 99s), but I don’t have the time.

Yeah OP is trying to be slick:
"I'm not complaining but... look at this list I came up with that just so happens to show our poor Cardinals not getting enough love."Nice job providing FACTS to counter him. I'm sure by the end of the year, the Cardinals will be well-represented again.
I also gave him facts when complaining about "large market" Rizzo and Devers getting the Lightning cards. I pointed out last year basically all Lightning cards were small market.

It's tough to guage fairness when every franchise is different. The Yankees probably have 10 hof players to 1 for half the league. How can you be fair between the Yankees and Marlins with past players? I would bet the Yankees have more players currently on the roster that will be hof than the Marlins have in their entire history. Baseball isn't even or fair from team to team, how can this game be without leaving legends like Mantle/Ruth out? I mean Sherzer by himself makes more this year than like 10 teams entire salary.... that's just how baseball is. The only way to make it fair would be to give no name players from teams like the Marlins or leave good players from the Yankees out of the game. If they did that, you would all complain about that. Remember how many people think giving FS cards 95 ovr. was stupid?
-
I'd say they favor the A's. They're 10th? And the Padres are down closer to the Dbacks than the Dodgers?
-
A. They’re tied for the 9th oldest franchise so they’ve got a LOT of history.
A. Tied for 3rd for most World Series titles so they’ve got a lot of SUCCESSFUL history.
A. 40 HOF players, including 9 players depicted as As on the plaque. (11th)
10th seems about right.

I was kind of curious tonight and had a few minutes so I thought I would tally up the non-live cards each team/division has so far.

Cardinals are pretty low there, I always knew SDS hated them, it's because they never rebuild isn't it?
I think they had the most last year though

You got me curious so I checked.
Cardinals were 6th with 41 cards. They came in behind Yankees (59), Reds (49), Dodgers (47), Braves (44), and Orioles (42)
I'm actually surprised not to see Houston and Boston near the top due to the addition of postseason players that should have bumped their totals. And I was honestly shocked to see the Orioles in the top 5
Who I really feel bad for last year was the Diamondback fans. They only got 16 cards all last year. That is only 1 more than they have already this year. The next lowest was the Rockies with 21
