I have been having the absolute worst stretch of offense I can remember. Plugging away through the conquest map and numerous missions and for the life of me I can’t get my offense going. Seems everything I do is failing: press first pitch, only attack fastballs, sit u til 2 strikes, w/e….I’m fighting to get 1 run.
What do y’all do during a bad stretch? Also, what do you try to identify first with a pitcher: pitch type or location?

Take a Break, for whatever reason I see the ball a hella lot better.
Custom practice on one level up from where you're struggling and type of pitch and location to get timing down. For me it's sinker and heat inside on HOF.
Lastly approach is key. Get comfortable with 2 strikes. Just because I know a high inside fastball is coming doesn’t mean I need to swing at the first pitch. Instead, let it go if it's on the corner and wait for the pitcher to make a mistake.
Fatigue and confidence play a big role. Swinging strikes greatly increase confidence relative to taking a strike. Also, I can't confirm this and may be mistaken, but believe when you have 2 strikes the clutch attribute kicks in.

Take a break. Eye fatigue from being locked in on a pitcher can make it feel like I can barely see what the ball is doing.
-
Switch your PCI up. Gives a fresh view on what you’re doing with your PCI.
-
Change batting camera. I don’t usually do this one but it works for some people.

Watch some pitches. If you have decent pitch recognition wait for a meaty strike. Don’t worry about the count. If you strike out so be it. Just don’t give away free outs on crappy swings with weak contact

I now exclusively use offset zoom. I pick the ball up better, but need to swing a little sooner. Best view for me.

Btw... are you mainly online or offline and what level of difficulty?

Thanks for all the feedback; looks like a couple days break may just be in order here. If today is only roster update and no additional content, timing might be now. May save me from continuing to watch acuna + ohtani prices escalate further out of reach as well!!
@JiggidyJJ_PSN Before this bad stretch I was probably 60/40 online/off. Haven’t jumped into ranked yet as I get caught up with BR primarily and then events being shorter take attention if I want to grab those rewards. I’d like to think I’m a tick above average, win more than I lose; when I have gone to ranked I can dip my toe into CS but that’s it.

When I'm in a slump I I really focus on the pitcher and trying to see the ball out of the hand. And then for the first 2 strikes I'm only looking for stuff out over the plate.

Here is my one superstition, conspiracy theory, tin foil hat, etc. Turn off the console and turn it back on. It might be some placebo effect but I feel like doing that resets the timing window or resets the lag latency or something like that.
Other than that good tips above. The later in the count the better chance you have to get a hit. This is how the game is coded. You can crush a first pitch fastball but it will die at the track. Be early with questionable pci on the 2-2 fastball and it gets crushed 450 feet. If I'm struggling vs the CPU I will also look for just one pitch usually the hanging slider, and just sit on that pitch. Also, play to the active quirks of your hitters. Some hit fastballs better, some breaking balls etc. -

I did this recently - SZ High to SZ 2. I've been having a much better time since. I think the key is switching it up a little, give yourself a different perspective. Can't hurt if you're struggling.

I recently had the epiphany to stop removing my thumb when swinging when grinding against the cpu. I will test it against humans tonight in event games. ️️

I use offset zoom as well, you can definitely pick up the ball better. -

When I'm not hitting online I go to custom practice with the pitch speeds all the way up and practice hitting balls (all pitch types) down the middle 1/3 of the plate. IMO you must know what good timing and pci placement feels like in order to get back on track. After that I will turn off the middle 1/3 and practice NOT swinging at balls outside the zone and only singing at balls in the zone. This gets me right back on track quick.
If I am only swinging at quality strikes at that point I'm ready to go.

Well, my GF has somehow now managed to ruin my plans again! Was going to take a few days off, but now she’s got an evening work event tonight, volunteering event most of the day tomorrow, then brunch/yoga/etc with a friend of hers Sunday….so now most of the weekend is me and the dog.
We’ll do some practice, adjust batting eye, be more patient and see what happens tonight. Otherwise, I’ll actually go outside and touch this grass I hear good things about…..and maybe entertain myself with the Lego SW Skywalker Saga game!
Appreciate the feedback from everyone.
