Goldschmidt

Sorry if this has already been discussed and I also don't have the stats right in front of me. But how was Goldschmidt not the lightning card?
-
He got snubbed
-
Because the community would have had a meltdown of epic proportions if they made you grind for another 1B
-
Playing for the Yankees, Red Sox, or Dodgers adds 2 points to your WAR.
In all fairness tho, I bet goldys LS gets upgraded to a 90 or 91 this Friday.
Devers was the worst choice imo. Oh well, im happy about the program, and happy about a usable altuve.

The alignment of the stars weren't in his favor

Whatever the reason they chose not to include him. Hopefully that means a massive upgrade on Friday or maybe part of a program later on.
It could be any number of reasons. The most common guess is that they did not want to do 2 first basemen in a row and to be honest anything less than the lightning card would not have worked due to his 91 card and likely upgrade.
Of course the 1B thing did not stop them from making Pete Alonso part of the program. And making Ortiz and Schmidt part of the new event. That's two third basemen with the same overall that players will be asked to grind for in the same month so would two first basemen a month apart be any worse?
Who knows what logic is floating around SDS?

Who says they didn't?

So many 1B out already, was the reward last month, and still 1Bs yet to drop (Howard and Ortiz).

Because Devers deserved it more
-
Because after his upgrade this week, his LS with inside edge will likely be as good, or better, than a 95 overall lighting card would have been … making it pointless

They said they would take good care of him.
