Is Brandon Crawford worth taking the plunge on?
-
I've got the Live Series done and I haven't played much of late. I've struggled filling SS, 3B, and 2B although I picked up the new 95 Mookie and the mid-90s Ketel Marte and they've both done well in a small sample size but I've been eyeing that Crawford since he dropped.
My current lineup is:
Catcher: Adley Rutschman
1B: Frank Thomas
2B: Chase Utley (i am awful with him)
SS: Ketel Marte
3B: Eugenio Suarez / Michael Young
LF: Mookie Betts
CF: Mike Trout
RF: Roberto ClementeAs you can see, my lineup skews pretty heavily to right-handed hitters so a solid lefty would be nice to add.

I would definitely wait. The only reason he's so expensive right now is because the availability of Award cards in the Brett collection is still fairly limited. Once more cards release, he will go down big time.
-
He definitely is. Great glove and arm and he hits lights out. As mentioned above he is slow so you don’t want him batting early in your lineup. I think he’s in the 7 spot for me.

Oh! That makes a ton of sense. See, I haven't really been following the George Brett collection because I've never liked his cards but I was wondering why Crawford is still so high when the others in that pack have dipped.

Yeah the collection is the only reason.

Yeah the collection is the only reason.
I'm kind of shocked that people are so juiced to get that Brett card especially after the Monthly Awards Rafael Devers dropped. I mean I know Brett has the potential to be an end-game 3B if his bat plays up to his attributes but in the past, that hasn't been the case too often.

I do really love George Brett cards and this is by far the best card they ever gave him.

I went against the advice given here and through my first two at-bats with Brandon Crawford I've hit two one-run homeruns; the first against a right-handed pitcher and then off a lefty.
So far, so good. Although, I wish he had secondaries at 2B or 3B, at least.
-
I love B Craw. Gonna be real hard to remove him from my lineup.
If you can drop tanks with him, just get him.
Yeah, there's lots of fake series SS, but do as you wish.
His speed doesn't hurt his D for me at all.

You can play him at 2B. It’ll show he’s out of position but he still has above 80 fielding and reaction there

Use JRam or grind for devers. Yours and my lineups are similar. I was platooning jram/young at 3rd until I unlocked devers.
-
He hits alright but I had two occasions yesterday with a routine ground outs being called safe. There are better defensive options.

I've had some insane pulls the the past two days so I've been able to just buy a ton of cards I was interested in. I'm still sorting through who I'm going to keep but Crawford, Marcus Semien, Ketel Marte, Nick Castellanos, and that WS Greg Maddux have all been impressive so far.
