Sds is this random or a glitch to freeze?

Playing a guy who is 21-0 and noticed that every time he threw to first base, he wouldn’t quickly throw it to second when nobody was there. Fast forward to the 4th inning and he does this again while I get a base hit and he throws to second after throwing to first but now it’s frozen? I’ve played others who would throw it to other bases before and it’s frozen on occasions so hopefully this is just a random bug and not a glitch.

I have a theory that SDS is slowly trying to wean you DD guys into playing Franchise again....that's what I think and I'm sticking to it
