The Commentary...
-
Is extremely well done in franchise mode it is a night and day difference compared to past games
-
It is VERY repetitive.

Oh man is it... After the 9000th time of hearing, "that's something you don't see these days - the pitch out..." Jeeze it's like torture. I'm sure that by now I have every line memorized, without even trying.
-
Or moments with And he gets the out it’s a no hitter! 7-8 times in a row is annoying as hell

Yes the DD commentary is awful but franchise is way better it's a night and day difference guys

"He stays alive..."
-
its thier first year using these guys of course there is gonna be limited lines..jesus yall complain about everything
-
Still sucks
-
I love when I get a lead off double or triple in the first inning and they will say the winning run is in scoring position
-
I constantly get the one about how my hit just broke up a no hitter 3-4 times a game. Or how my starter is pitching well enough to snap the winning streak even though it’s me who is on the winning streak.
-
"he has turned into a beast"
"That have a little wrinkle to it? Little slider action?"

The repetitive lines isn’t as bothersome as being in the wrong spot.
“He stays alive…” No Boog, I just popped out to first
“The winning run is on base” It’s the 1st inning of a 9 inning game
“He catches it against the wall” the shortstop caught it on the infield grass
There’s probably more that I can’t think of right now -

Right, these lines are the problem, it's all the time. I'm sure the beast line isn't in Franchise as much, but every game you are going to hear slider action and pitch out.

I have it on ZERO within my settings. Fully muted. All else is up at max. I HATE the new comentary. It sounds so freaking lame with what they say, its too repeative & rarely is correct within the situation at the moment. It's just HORRIBLE !!!!!
-
Yeah I control the Yankees and I’ve heard enough of the Chris Singleton suit story and the Boog Schiambi Bo Jackson/Deion Sanders story.
-
If you compare it to '21, the same lines are repeated about the same number of times as '22. The problem is the attempt at being more conversational. That and that some of the commentary continues through the at-bat when it's very distracting and when it shouldn't be there at all. I think if they kept the chatter out of continually interrupting the at-bat that would go a long way toward making things a lot better.
-
Since I posted above, I have tried March To October and The Franchise and the commentary is not the same as it is in Diamond Derby. And it seems to work a little better. I think, given the fact they've done some updates on it that it's something they're working to improve as they do with the game as a whole.

So, the new commentary does not add to the immersion of the game the way it should at this point with NG consoles. The line-to-line stitching for BOOG is so bad especially when they mention player names. I actually like Singleton's commentary, but it gets overshadowed by the horrible lines from BOOG and a month into the season you have heard every single story and reaction. Madden does many things wrong but the commentary for the game is dynamic and is stitched together much better than MLB THE SHOW. NBA 2K on NG has excellent and dynamic commentary as well that works well with the fast pace of an NBA GAME and they have sideline reporters AND SHAQ, KENNY and ERNIE. Thats where the bar is set and MLB THE SHOW is not getting this right despite changing broadcast teams.
