97 Ruth for Takashi Collection is a Huge L

Collect all means collect all available right now. There will be more of them released down the line. and why would they make this card better than the one that will be released for the big collection?

Because it is asinine to have the collection be a 97 lefty first baseman (or terrible OF) for a collection that includes a 97 lefty first baseman. If they were going to keep the award a 97, then it should have been for effectively anything other than a first baseman (or terrible defensive OF).
Also, due to D and speed, the Ruth 99 is never usually a “meta” card when it finally comes out, so having it come out early for a change to give him time to shine would have been nice as well.

As soon as we found out it was babe I sold all my Takashi cards. Like you said, why would I lock in a 140k lefty firstbaseman for a lefty firstbaseman.

I disagree that it is an L. You're getting a very popular player with a very popular card that should be a regular starter until the end of the summer. And on top of that Babe Ruth is going to be to this collection what Mariano Rivera was to the big collections last year in that he's the halfway point. The end goal, from the moment Takashi cards were announced was obvious.

Except you will need Ruth for the Big Collection and imo we won’t be able to skip any on Day 1 since Future Stars won’t be doable on Day 1. So lock Delgado in for Babe or whomever the Big Collection is but it’s the same thing. More annoyed that Maddux might be required as that is a bs move as not many have even been earned yet let alone sold.

I really wish SDS would offer a physical release of some of there cards like this and the finest cards. I would love to have them to frame and hand on the wall

If you are unable to skip 1 then sds has fully embraced the madden money grab and I'm out.

I’m sure they will technically say you can but with all the Future Stars being dropped on Friday as well you won’t be able to earn them for a few days at least. Thus to get the Big Collection on Friday you’d have to skip FS.

I’m guessing it will be skip 2 and that both future stars and PoTM will be difficult/impossible to do on Friday (FS until you earn them and PoTM until next Friday).
I’m not upset the collection reward for Takashi is a 97, I’m upset that it’s a 97 first baseman (or bad defensive outfielder).

You are correct. It's a cycle around here when it comes to collections. It's a money grab when it first drops and then people beg for free prime cards or whatever and repeat for the next one. There will always be more than enough cards to go around with patience

I wouldn’t call it a “huge L.” Some people will be excited for this card. I’m never excited about Babe, so I sold everything last night and got my cover athletes ready for the big one. Takashi will be a cheaper collection later on.

You are correct. It's a cycle around here when it comes to collections. It's a money grab when it first drops and then people beg for free prime cards or whatever and repeat for the next one. There will always be more than enough cards to go around with patience
I don't need prime cards, or 2nd heros, or any other cards, I just need to be able to ignore the ridiculously over priced Takashi cards, and not have them hide the collection behind the brand new future cards.
And you are right, the collections are alway millions the first week then they will give out cards like candy, but without TA how will they give the cards out. My guess is always intense packs and headliners. Everything this year is being approached from a business financial mentality and it blows hard.
To be fair tho, the only comparison I have is mlb21 and they spoiled us pretty good.

At first it likely will be locked behind the future stars, but I don't think the voucher will be much more than whatever they give us in the program(assuming 12) plus a couple. So maybe 15

Frank's part of the LS, so that's a different argument.
Nevertheless, I can't tell whether the community moaning about not being able to complete the big one with what's already locked in OR the decision to release cards needed for the big collection simultaneously -- which is worse.
What's worst of all, though, is SDS's decision in retrospect to make Rizzo the Lightning player knowing that Delgado and Babe were right around the corner...sheesh....

Honestly though, Babe is a pretty big fan favorite. For those of you screaming "L"....who did you really expect? Or who did you think it should be? Prime Matsui?
