It won't be Story, already has an upgraded 91 overall card. Won't be Betts, already has a 95. Those things have to be taken into consideration. Honestly I'd say Goldy but he is another 1B and people would probably riot. I'd put my money on Judge or Devers.

I know I am biased but I think if a player has earned it and the card will be an upgrade over anything that they currently have in the game then they should get it.
Let's face it, nobody would be happy if a player from their favorite team was disqualified simply because they played the same position as last months winner.

So even as a Red Sox fan, I agree Goldschmidt deserves it.
But not far behind him in most categories is Devers. Hopefully, he can put up a couple monster games to finish the month.
I guarantee the only people that will even care about a Goldschmidt card will be Cardinal fans.
But Devers?? Have you seen how few good 3B primary cards they're are currently? Most of the community would be thrilled with a May POTM Devers.

imo, they love Mookie, so I’ll say a 96 lightning card -
Altuve or Goldy Imo. I just hope it drops this Friday. Would be weird to drop it with week 1 of the June Monthly Awards program.

Just today is left, and Betts looks to have solidified his case. If defense is taken into consideration, then his case for POTM is overwhelming. Him already getting a 95 card should have nothing to do with May POTM. This has nothing to do with "SDS's love for Betts", as he has earned every bit of it.

Judge leads MLB with 11 HR ... hitting .333 with 1.187 OPS to boot.
On the other hand JD Martinez is hitting .425, just not big power numbers. Acuna could get it for hit return from injury.... Martin Perez and Verlander in the mix with ERA of 0.64 and 0.70 WHIP of 1.02 and 0.74... unconventional but RPs Taylor Roger's and David Bednar are dominating with 10+ innings right now in May.
Right now I would say Judge and that card would be cracked.
Nah, Devers because they refuse to upgrade his card to a diamond. (83 OVL is disrespectful) He's gonna be the lightning player. Take that to the bank.
