What they actually said as far as that is that in the past they went too far with patches so they are trying to make small changes to get to where they want instead of making big changes and breaking everything. They also said they will analyze foul balls again after getting some swing info from post patch.

I know the biggest thing is the foul balls that been like that for a few years now. Hopefully Then are doing it right this year by not over doing it. It looks like it will be a slow process of patching things.

In all honesty ive had a bigger issue with AI defense and baserunner speed this year....which indirectly impacts hitting. Obviously the ridiculous plays in the field by common/bronze fielders and the fact that a missile to the gap barely gets you a double with an 80+ speed guy (which looks like it may have been fixed)

You never heard "this" much complaining about hitting in 17. Get rid of all the foul balls with the huge outer PCI and leave the super fielding and we have a game.

Problem is they only look at stats/outcomes. That doesn't tell you that the game is playing terribly. That hard hit balls go right at fielders way too often. That bloop hits happen way too often. That fielders are supermen for some [censored] insane reason.
When the gameplay is suspect, you can then point to the numbers.
Hit variety in this game is almost nonexistent.

Me too, but I've used it a lot lately in RTTS since my contact rating is pretty low atm. Outside of RTTS I use it if my pitcher has 2 strikes while batting.

This year I've found myself power swinging way more than using X just to maybe drive a ball into the gap. Contact swing should have zero outer PCI because it makes the center PCI that much larger.

I can tell you I only normal swing but can foul off pretty much everything like the people you see who you assume are contact swinging. They may be, but you can get the same results extending abs with normal
