For the team ones I've just been doing play vs the CPU against baltimore or oakland with a full team of whatever team I need for the program PxP. It's mind numbingly boring but it gets the xp quickly.

I just turn on auto fielding and baserunning too so I can watch netflix or something while I play.

When I first started playing, I had a real hard time getting through programs. Until I learned how to kill many birds with one Randy Johnson fastball....I mean stone. As the others have said, RTTS is a great way to grab big xp. Especially as a pitcher or two way player. MTO can get you a big chunk. I'd focus on trying do multiple missions at once. Use the Monthly players for the POTM program and mix in players from the teams in the team pxp missions or the Cover athlete missions or even just the Nike programs all while playing conquest which will give you 30k right there. Or mini seasons gives you a ton of XP and stubs.

Also, definitely don't stress about any program that Isn't time sensitive. I just started the US Map because I wanted to wait until other programs were completed. Last year, I didn't complete it until they gave all 30 prospects for once through. They will ramp up the XP as we get closer, probably add a program on Friday and a conquest map on Tuesday. And remember, all these cards will be back. They've already started releasing FOTF in Chase packs and the prices plummeted.

Double XP starts the 13th. I've only played offline so far (conquest and mini seasons) and I play on rookie 90% of the time with the occasional veteran or all star when needed in conquest. I don't have any issues finishing missions.

3000pxp with a team is painfully easy. Just use only players from that team. Pitchers get 40pxp just for pitching an inning! If you play a 3 inning game you'll get 90pxp just for 9 at bats, and the pitchers will get 120 just for 3 innings. That's 210pxp right there for getting no walks, no hits, no runs, and pitchers getting no strikeouts, no win, no hold and no save....

And you don't need to buy any diamonds or anything I have most of the team's gold and below done just from all the free packs, and I'll occasionally buy a gold or missing silver because I'm going to need them to finish the live series anyways. And if you're trying to get an individual player's pxp stick them near the top of the lineup to do two things at once.

You get much more pxp if you play above all-star...and i think u will find that you get use to it faster than you think.

I have 719463 level 42 on Spring Cleanup. The game stopped either adding my xp or giving me any at all. Anyone else have that problem? It’s like they don’t want me to finish the program.

Assuming you didn’t hit the xp cap, which could happen if you are grinding to complete the program, it could be a similar issue I had and have seen others have where you just stop getting xp. I’ve seen some people say it’s related to offline home run derby but idk. I will say I was playing franchise and participated in the derby with my one team controlled players a few days before it happened.
Anyway, for me I uninstalled the game and reinstalled and started gaining the xp again. Annoying as hell but I’ve seen several people on Reddit and here talking about the same issue and this seems to do the trick.
    Best of luck to you.

Some great advice on here and props to you for just laying your situation out there Rookie level and all. This advice/question is NOT a roast! Do you play on All Star often? Or even Hall of Fame? When I started I was on your path but found that the more I played on higher levels the easier they became. Now when I play on Rookie I mainly use power swing! I can compete with the average Joe on HOF but have no desire to play Legend. The few times I did it just wasn't fun so I totally understand if you feel that way about All Star. Just thought I'd ask/suggest.

15 year MLB The Show gamer here, I know I will get roasted by the community but it has to be said. SDS made completing any mission impossible this year. Having to get PXP for players is nietherly impossible. Yeah yeah yeah I get it all of you that play on All Star and above can knock out the program in a week but those of us that play for fun on rookie or veteran have no chance of completing the programs this year.

On the Spring Cleanup program in Week 2 build PXP missions you have to get PXP on 8 missions which I am not even close to completing. I've completed week 1 which also I had to get PXP. Even on the monthly award you have to complete 13 PXP missions. I've only completed 5 of those missions and still have to unlock 6 more monthly awards players. Same with Cover Athletes program and all the Nike City Connect programs.

Everything this is year is dependent on PXP for cards and when I'm playing on Rookie or Veteran it's taking forever to complete anything. Last year was still a grind but it was fun, this year it's not.

You don't have to do the PXP to do the program. Also, the PXP is super easy on Rookie, especially if you play conquest. I know I've done it.

Seems you are just going about the game all wrong. No offense.

If you're having trouble with the hitters, go to a high-altitude ballpark like Coors. That's how I completed mine and programs of old, like the Johnny Bench Career Arc in MLB 18. I do not miss that grind at all!

In the past I’ve been more of hardcore player. This year I’ve been fairly casual simply because of time and my schedule. And “beat” the featured program sure it’s difficult, but to unlock the boss hasn’t been too hard. Similar with other programs. It takes me longer for sure but doable

Regardless if you are casual or not, Rookie or Legend they never shouldv'e made programs time senitive. Let people progress speed they want. People have other things going on in life. Trying to rush to get players to use that we grew up watching or pretending to be like. Supposed to be the purpose of DD. (still scratching head as to why they changed it.)

Or a double and you hit one in the gap and the dang CPU runner, who was on first, stops at second

That makes me want to burn all my arm hair off when that happens. So frustrating.
