Clay Holmes is like 12 overalls too low

Full disclosure, I’m heavily invested, bought hundreds of him at 40ish stubs, he’s currently 400. But since coming to the Yankees he’s been nothing short of elite.
And his baseball savant shows it’s sustainable success. He’s legitimately a top 5 relief pitcher in baseball in my opinion.
He has 1.2 bWAR. For reference, that’s more (or equal) bWAR than Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette combined (1.2 bWAR)
He also has the longest current scoreless appearances streak for this season with 19.2 scoreless innings his last 18 times out.
If you want to bring up career stats, I’d ask you to look at him since coming to New York, because he’s been nothing short of elite and is playing like a diamond, as has he his whole time as a Yankee.
His ERA+ of 835 rivals prime Zack Britton (803 ERA+). That’s ridiculous.

He def should get upgraded more, but to a diamond?
I'll first point out that you aren't showing stats that correlate to upgraded stats. ERA and ERA+ aren't in-game stats. bWAR isn't an in-game stat that gets upgraded
Secondly, while his H/9 could use an upgrade, his 9.0 K/9, while good, isn't something that screams huge upgrade. And those two stats are generally the most important to bumping overall.
It's not just about how a player is doing in RL, you have to look at how players get bumped in overalls in game, you have to look at those measurements.
Also just because he's elite since coming to the Yankees, doesn't mean the three year thing doesn't exist, you can't just wave it away

His HR/9, H/9, and BB/9 could also use a big upgrade. His HR/9 could be close to maxed out lol. Dude doesn’t allow home runs and is a ground ball pitcher

His H/9 is at 87, so while it def needs to be upgraded, it's hard to say that it needs a "big" upgrade, they aren't just gonna give him 110 h/9, at most he would go up to upper 90s, and that's not enough to get him to diamond.

But is it 105 H/9 undeserved?

Go look at every LS reliever, you know how many have 105? A total of 5, and those 5 are there because of the three year average. They are not just going to mega boost Clay Holmes suddenly. Relievers are some of the hardest cards to get to diamond,
And 105 H/9 still wouldn't get him to a diamond either. Ryan Tepera has 106 H/9 and is a 79 silver.

Not in H/9, Tepera has a better H/9 in rl

He is more likely to get a Topps Now or POTM card than a big boost to his LS
-
It’s not just current stats that affect a players rating. It’s the past few years as well. If not a player that plays great for a month and a half could have a mid 90’s card. Plus trying to figure out how SDS does player upgrades or downgrades is anyones guess, and doesn’t make sense a lot of the time.
-
Got upgraded but it’s not enough, should have gone gold, close to diamond. Only got a bump to high silver for one of the best RPs in the sport.
-
actually did he just get position changed and no stat change? What lol
-
Dude was the biggest [censored] in the world for the pirates until the last series he pitched for them. That’s gonna drag him down for a while w the way they do ratings

It’s clear he’s not the same pitcher. The sample is big and the savant page backs it up + he’s changed his pitching tendencies
-
He definitely passes the eye test. Hitters are looking lost when facing him and that sinker is a bowling ball.

Yeah that’s true, but they’re still not gonna upgrade him much for that reason

I’d say you don’t just get to diamond after half a season of doing well. But Cedric Mullins made it to diamond last year after being an afterthought for a few years.
To me the 3 year average is gone. No way Bo Bichette is a silver over the past 3 years. Same with so many other players.

It’s a year and a half for holmes and the team change emphasizes it, he’s playing like a diamond now and hasn’t been the same player

I think his getting a POTM card in the final set of card for this months May program 92-93 OVR card.
-
He just won reliever of the month. Really should be a diamond imo
