We need somthing. Somthing to show our opponent that we respect their play. In a game full of r2 holding, bunt dancing, and pausing it would be nice to have the ability to tip the cap or atleast have some emotes to let them know, hey good pitch, or nice hit, or just gg thanks for making this experience go smoothly. Most people have their messages set to private and I don't blame them. It could only make the community less hostile.

Sure sending a “nice hit” message after every K or “nice pitch” during a HR replay would be hilarious but this isn’t rocket league. Just send them a message. “Most” gets thrown around a lot on this forum of about 45 total people. “Most” people don’t have messages off the same way “most” don’t bunt dance or replay homeruns.
I’ve played like 100 games, received no messages, never got BMed by anyone. One HR replay which was a no doubter by Johnny Cueto in the moonshot event so it’s all g. It’s blown out of proportion.
The servers aren’t as bad as Demise says the same way online gameplay isn’t as toxic as dudes with messages turned OFF say it is. It’s in there heads, they need an excuse for why they can’t win but others can. Blaming others comes first, blaming the devs second, blaming the opponents ethnicity third, internet provider fourth, and somewhere way down in about 14th place is them checking there hitting feedback and seeing the “dead center” swing was actually a 9 and late.

I wish there was a respect button for this post. Everything is blown out of proportion on this forum. It's more of a mad magazine type forum than an actual legitimate educational forum for the game. I mainly do it while bored at work or taking a dump. I always get a good laugh. I play strictly online except for the offline boring grinding I have to do for certain cards. I almost never encounter any of these issues with bunt dancing and holding r2 and every other nonsense. Everything is blown out of proportion on this forum the game has been playing beautifully for me since 120 hertz update on ps5.

If I have a good game with someone I always send a message. I'll add to it if it was a really close competitive game and normally those messages get a response.
I have had a few sent to me that I will respond so I would say that's the best option now.
As far as a respect button goes I feel that could work but feel like someone SDS will do something that doesn't make it work as intended then the community will then use it for more nefarious ways and we will all just be back here to complain about it

Why did they take the pre pitch batter animation out only to let your opponent R2 you to death. I’d rather watch the batter animation than the R2 [censored].

Ironically I thought that was what the double Bunt dance was for, or the double quick pause if you are pitching.

There actually used to be rep system in this game where you rated a player based on the enjoyment of said gameplay. If they were jerks and did stupid things like clown dives in the outfield on routine fly balls or any of the other trolling cheese garbage that has become the norm in h2h play then you risked having your rep fall below a certain threshold which would result in bans that would progressively get longer the more your rep suffered. It also helped with matchmaking. Higher repped people would have a higher likely hood of being matched together. I think the last year that was featured was the year Yasiel Puig was the cover.

You know what else will make the community less hostile??? Less complaining over things that are out of one’s control. Not conflating one’s experience in the game just to make a point. Not exaggerating one’s gameplay to justify their argument. And yes I’m aware that all three statements are the same. I was intentionally trying to be redundant because complaining in this game has become a redundant excercise in futility. I wish people would be honest with themselves before coming to these forums to complain. The whole I lose because of something else is getting real old. People with gaudy good records year in and year out don’t perform that way because it’s a fluke. They perform that way because they are simply better than their competition regardless of the so called RNG and other user created myths.

Or if you are up to bat. Hit a no doubter and then the next batter gets beaned.
I do the double pause. If it’s an absolute no doubter on a decent pitch or a pitch I know I botched I’ll replay the hr.

Yeah I agree. I always want to give a shout-out or say something about a weird animation yada yada yada. But it’s like, I have to grab my phone and start a chat with them in the app. A couple of options in the quick menu would be nice. The Hold ‘em apps have the ability to do this. Surely they could implement this in this game.

I finally turned messages off after several years. I always enjoyed getting a nice message from an opponent but lately too many were "I need 1 win for this reward" or "I need 4 home runs can you help me" or "you are why this game is so bad".
A nice simple Send Respect button would be nice. All I can do now if do that little bunt thing that I think means "good play".

If we play, when you beat me I will send a "GG" message. So... unblock me!

Someone hit a 500+ foot bomb off me in Moonshot last week. I would have replayed it 8 times if I could.

Oh, you mean the servers that disconnect your game play so you have to constantly restart the app? How about the ones that freeze your game? Or determine you in KC should match against an opponent in NY on the NY server even though there are THOUSANDS of people playing this game in your region?

I keep mine one for messages like "hey can you help me out I need 8 walks to complete a mission" I know instantly I am about to get a win from a quit same with the "hey I need one for win for X reward can you quite" makes me happy inside knowing I am about to ruin this person's afternoon simply by playing the game

This. It's why messages are off.
I can ignore trolls. After a good game, I'd send a friend request on PSN and if they accept, then I chat.
-
Just give a tip of the cap here same way y’all whine after a loss

Some racing games I've played in the past would have an indicator attached to your username that showed how clean of a driver you were. Dirt 2 in particular everyone started as white, if you drove poorly you would be bumped to yellow and eventually red. A clean driver would get a green rating, something like this would be a cool feature to showcase how often a player quits mid game, bunts, griefs, ect.

Never heard of that before; weird way to say nice play, by being annoying lol
