I need 24 points right now. I can only achieve 19 that’s with the 4 from Ward and the 2500 pxp with monthly awards hitters. I’ll have to parallel ward almost to 3 for that. I see that the 10 points for the topps now mission is incomplete on the first stage but not stage 2. I have played more topps now but it won’t unlock. I’m so confused about all of this. I’m not going to buy these cards. This seems shady
Stage 2 starts at 65 points.
Stage 2 Moments 33 total(98)
Topps now PXP 10(108)
3 88 overall monthly awards missions 3 each(117)
Monthly Awards 90 overall missions 4 each(125)
15 each for PXP with monthly award Hitters and pitchers(155)
Collection gets you Dawson
PXP with dawson gets you rizzo
If you sold Your 88 overalls or took 3 pitchers that is your own faultWait wait wait
You mean to tell me that I have to pay attention to what I am doing when playing this game and ensure I make the right choices and I can't just exchange everything I have in my binder to get the cards I need
Also you mean to tell me I actually have to use they cards the put in the game to get the program done and I can't just use my God squad on rookie and blow up the Orioles.
The audacity of SDS
Lol. This place is toxic.

MLB show community: There is nothing to grind this year
Also the MLB show community: This grind is so ridiculous for a card I don't want
That is definitely true. Just another case of you can't please everyone. I personally am not a huge fan of PXP missions. For some reason they seem more grindy than last years missions, although I am not sure why.
As someone who does not play nearly as much as others around here do, and who only plays offline on veteran, the PXP grind seems slow. I am not a fan of the fact that to make progress in almost every program I need to spend most of my time playing using a squad of players that I do not care about while my main squad of players that I want to use sits dormant.
I'll be trying to finish the POTM program though and see how it goes.

They also force you to do the collection with your sellable cards, then give you non sellable at the end. They are losers at sds
Yeah this part makes no sense. Same cards you could pick earlier and sell, are later in stage 3 packs no sell.
Because why?
To punish dumbasses like me who bought some of them only to realize the ones at the end are no sell.
It’s okay though. I’ve pulled Trout, Vlad, 3 DeGroms...lots more. I’m playing with house money.
Sure you have, you don't have to lie to kick it..we don't know you

I also can't complete round 2 without buying two additional not provided players and doing their individual pxp missions. Any round 1 points left on the board are unattainable.

The fact that it is so convoluted that even the most educated of us cant do the math or figure out what we actually need to do to get to Rizzo or Dawson, or figure out the most efficient way to do it, speaks volumes of the program. I think they could easily streamline the process with changes in the menus.
Some great explanations on here and I appreciate the help, but if it takes more that 8 sentences to explain what you need to do the game becomes more of a chore than a game. -
I sold 0 players. Never did the Topps now pxp before it moved me to round 2. So now I have to buy 2 players, lol. Where was this explained in the game?

You don't have to buy any players.
Start at 65 at stage 2
Topps now PXP for stage 2 10 points
3 points each for 3 88 overall monthly cards PXP
4 points each for 2 90 overall monthly cards PXP
15 Points Monthly Pitchers PXP
15 Points Monthly hitters PXP
15 points collect 5 monthly cards
33 points Moments
6 Points Dawson PXP -
sorry, already answered
-
In stage 1...10 points or so are left unaccounted for correct? I did the collection thinking it would still let me do the Topps Now PXP for Stage 1 and 2 at the same time. But it didn't count for stage 1 so I'm guessing you're meant to choose either of the two? Or did I screw myself by doing all the moments first? That's my question.
And it does say the OPTIONAL collection can be done to Speed up getting to RIZZO, but you can't get all 9 until you get Rizzo...unless you purchase so maybe that's what's confusing people?
-
Just be careful not to take only pitchers or only hitters with your choice packs.
Example, if you take the 5 hitters (3 at 88 and 2 at 90), you’ll have to buy the pitchers off the market or you won’t be able to complete all of stage 2 (pxp with monthly pitchers)

You don't need any points from RD 1. The only reason RD 2 points go last 65 possible is if you just wanted to buy the Gold TN players so you can skip some of the Moments/Missions.

Did Stage 2 unlock for you? If so, then you don't need to buy anyone. If you follow @the_dragon1912 posted you can get it done.
Now if you already got your three 88 packs and took three pitchers then you may have to buy one of the 88 batters. If that's the case, when you lock in the 5 for the collection make sure that player isn't locked and you can sell them back and pick them up later out if the No Sell packs.

I miss counted. I ended up buying Joc and the second baseman from Cleveland forgot his name. Finished the program and sold them back and made a few stubs. All I picked was pitchers at first not paying attention. Kinda used to how it was before.

@wildthingwilly_psn said in Are we really being forced to do pxp missions this hard?:
There's no reason I should have to do every single pxp mission with not only the potm card, but then the pxp for Topps too, it is a ridiculous grind for a mid outfielder and a mid 1st baseman isn't it? Then you don't even get the program points for the Topps collection really. Why even make it 40 points if we only get like 10 of the points? We had to play all the moments, so what was the purpose of making it say 40?
The purpose of making it say 40 was for the people who didnt wanna do all the grinding to get the Topps Now cards in the first place. They could have bought all of them and ended up doing only 3-4 moments and the collection to get to the next stage.
