How to improve hitting?

First time playing The Show in about 5 years. Need some tips to improve hitting, especially for online play since it’s basically the only way to get stubs. Currently using strike zone view.

good job using strike zone view- definitely should stick with that imo. i think the single best mode u can play to get better strictly at hitting is challenge of the week (cotw). this mode greatly encourages plate discipline and allows u to get a feel for every difficulty. it’s also less boring than custom bp and the point system allows u to make goals and track ur progress.

IMO it really depends on how good you are with using a controller. The most successful hitters online are those that have their PCI & Timing on point more times then not. They just know how to move the PCI with ease in time to where the pitch if heading to & as well have enough time to have a Green Metered swing if not Perfect. I myself do not & can not fall within that category regardless how much I try & practice. The dexterity & reflex response within my fingers does not allow me to execute such things properly & efficiently.
I need to rely on Directional Hitting & making sure my Swing Timing is at-least on point. However because it is Directional Hitting, I can not control the hitters bat to ball trajectory because the PC is now randomizing that.
You need to see which method feels most comfortable for you & is currently giving you the best results so far & then just continue to practice at it over & over & over until you begin becoming much better & skilled at at.

I wouldn’t worry about hitting right now. It’s [censored] backwards.

Try timing instead of zone in the hitting interference. Once you get your swing back switch back to zone, or just keep it on timing.

This is a very underrated and good advice, this is why SDS added timing, to help “new” players to get a feel of the timing windows.

If you play online. Get a gaming monitor and modify your controller. Sucks it has to be like that but thats the way it is. Otherwise, you're using a wood bat in a metal bat league. After that, custom practice

Take pitches and don't be afraid to strike out looking. You'll be getting BP fastballs by the 3rd inning. This game rewards you on pitches swinging at balls over the plate and you don't even have to line up the pci.
