I had my PS4 plugged into an Ethernet adapter and was getting 35.6 download.
Brought console upstairs to plug right into the router and now I have 248 download MBPS.
Will this be a noticeable difference in connection speed or will it not matter ?

You shouldn't be allowed to connect online and play other people. That is not fair to your opponent. You're horrific internet ruins their games.

How do you see your ping
On PS you can’t see it while doing a speed test. The best way for best results is being hardwired to your PC or labtop then run a speed test by Ookla.
