If SDS is banning folks because of their lack of market security that's the bow on top of this great gift of a game. I can hear the Benny Hill music playing in the background now.
-
I think selling things for twice their value might have something to do with it. I can understand the allure, but don't do it.

I mean, how is he or any of us for that matter supposed to know what is going on with the market if it is in fact that? There is ZERO communication from sds about anything.

IF someone isn't manipulating the market and only taking advantage of how others are manipulating if then how is the fault of the person putting in the sell order?
If I hadn't locked in for the collections last week then I likely would have sold trout, tatis, degrom, etc since I don't lock in anything until I have ALL the cards. I would have been banned for absolutely no reason or fault of my own.
Those actively manipulating the market deserve bans but people along for the ride do not.

What do you think is more likely:
A) out of all the people buying and selling that day OP was singled out and banned
B) OP bought stubs from one of the many sites advertised by youtubers and is playing the victim.
Op if you honestly did nothing wrong file a ticket and they will help you. And I'm sorry this happened to you.
I've seen a couple other guys post that they were banned as well, but they admitted to buying the stubs. What was strange was that one was banned for a year and the other for only a day.

I didnt say it was their fault....but if you price Trout for twice everyone else expecting it to sell, SDS will flag that.
-
I agree that anyone legitimately selling a card for any amount when the market is out of control should not be punished. This market is so volatile that you just quite never know what to expect and often might not know why things are happening. I have seen the market go absolutely bonkers over the smallest things and without any warning. Just last week SDS tweets that there will be a Cover Athlete program and within an hour some of those were down to 12k and then almost instantly rebounded. Cover athlete cards bouncing between 12k and 30k is really. I different than Trout bouncing between 200k and 600k.
-
They can look at your buy and sell orders. So they can see exactly what you did, I’m not saying you did anything wrong, but if you were manipulating the market they’d see it.

What a stupid [censored] statement. What is twice the value of a digital baseball card? There’s cards out now that in a couple months are gonna be selling for 4x times their sale price. Value is determined by the market.
-
OP is a good dude, sorry to see this happen to him.

I'm not making judgement. I'm simply replying to the scenario presented by person I replied to that said selling for twice the value was a problem which I disagee with anyone receiving a ban for IF that's all they did.

I was once banned for some sort of vague manipulation scheme that they never explained to me. In fact that don't have to explain why you are banned. They "investigated" the matter and there was no such scam. We had the ban lifted and never found out what we were accused of. If it is market manipulation. I'd like to see the rules.

Here’s a start
https://theshow.com/mlb-the-show-online-code-of-conduct/But it doesn't clearly explain what market manipulation is other than stub transfer. EDIT: OH i see now. I'm not sure how someone could significantly manipulate the market for very long.
-
I bet the majority did stub transfers. So easy to track.

On Twitter there are a lot of people saying they got banned for "flipping cards".

All my stubs were removed shortly after a sold one Trout for 627k. Wasn’t trying to manipulate the market, just saw he was selling high and made the move…

I'm in a facebook group for this game and theres a post with like 6-7 people that got banned because they didn't know buying stubs from a 3rd party site was against the rules. And after that post here yesterday it makes a lot of sense lmao. These dudes think this is madden and can illegally buy stubs on the cheap and get away with it. If you notice its not exactly forum regulars getting banned for this stuff
