Raes we need to combine the community to bring a hybrid of 16/17 with with their strengths put together and bugs diminished.
That would be great, but the people over in San Diego are clearly not interested in that direction unfortunately.
I’m gonna have to tag in Bret Hart to put some of these devs in a sharpshooter or something.
This is legit the only thing I understood about today's computers and numbers lesson. I guess something bad happened for PS players. I spent the 2000s and 2010s partying my face off so I didn't play a video game until Covid hit and now I'm obsessed with this game (more about baseball than the video game).
But your Bret Hart reference was awesome.
I actually went to Wrestlemania in Glendale in 2010 and Bret Hart had a "match" with Vince McMahon. It was awful but way cool to see him back. He, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker were a huge part of my childhood. It was also the night Miitalicised textchaels retired after losing to the Undertaker. If you look in the crowd you'll see me drunk and having a blast. Well, you'll see 80k people like that hahaha..
Um, so what were we talking about?
Ahh, I grew up with Greg The Hammer Valentine’s daughter as one of my best friends so have so many stories at his house at the pool with Beefcake, Hogan, Honkey, Tito Santana, and on and on.
Lots and lots of backstage stories, so many fun memories. She started training at the Hart
Dungeon in her late 20s but passed away before she went far from substance abuse.Greg was/is a humble and great guy.
That's right, I remember you telling some story about being backstage and them trying not to break character or something to that effect. Wrestling was such a huge thing for me when I was a kid and then again in college when it became somewhat mainstream in the 2000s with The Rock and Austin etc. I remember two of the hottest girls on campus (and I went to SDSU) wearing cut up DX shirts and thinking, what planet am I on? Sorority girls like wrestling?
That's really unfortunate about his daughter. He is definitely an all time great.
Ahh the Aztecs. My defining moment in college....I batted 5th in the lineup and they walked our cleanup hitter intentionally to load the bases to pitch to me. 2nd pitch....BOMB!!! LOL
Did you at least stare the opposing manager down while trotting the bases?
Oh no....I played old school baseball and you never showed anybody up.

The 120Hz and VRR issues are very hot right now. I'm gonna do some fortune telling. SDS will figure out a way for us to use it online in the same way we are using it offline right now. And when they do, people will think they have this great advantage now, but fail to recognize that everyone else has been given the same advantage.
So everyone will be seeing and crushing the ball like there's no tomorrow, especially given the gameplay issues that this game has (no strikeouts, random pitching outcome). And then people will say "increase the pitch speeds!" and "shrink the PCI". And then we will go full circle where we once again struggle with timing but this time we can do it with VRR enabled and/or while playing on 120Hz .You mean I will be getting more good swings inside the pci that do not go for hits. Can't wait.
Dude have you tried it, either the 120hz or VRR? You are gonna love this.
It's just offline right? Change the ps5 settings to 120hz?
It is for now unfortunately, hopefully they will fix it. The input lag on my monitor goes from 12.6ms to 4.8ms, and the difference is very noticable.
How do you see the lag on your monitor?

It doesn't count the lag, it counts the frames per second displayed on the monitor. My monitor has a frame counter as a feature, it is in the settings under game assists. Not every monitor has one though.

Are you referring to display "response time", as in the time it takes for your display to render a fast moving image? Or "Input lag", as in the time it takes for your display to react to your input device, such as a controller.

Actually they are all different things. The frames per second is kind of self explanatory, it is how many frames per second are being displayed. Right now for this game and a lot of other console games (next gen) it is locked at 60. Previous gen had a lock of 30. PC games go to 100 and even beyond. The more frames, the more fluid the motion because everything gets refreshed more often, that's where the Hz come into the equation.
Response time is a marketing gimmick. Is it used to sell monitors and it does nothing other than indicate how quick a pixel is able to change color. Basically any monitor nowadays has a 1ms response time, so it means nothing.
Input lag though is very important. That's the amount of time it takes for the action you performed on your controller to be displayed on your screen. The lower the better, because that means less delay and more time to react. Input lag is determined by a couple of things though, and never just 1 thing. The machine (console/PC), the display (monitor/tv), the controller and even the game itself. It is very hard to accurately measure this because there are values we don't know, especially the input lag coming from the game itself. You could use a tool called a Leo Bodnar input lag device to measure it, but luckily there are independent testers on the web, like Rtings, who do this for us for things like monitors.

A couple other things I noticed. MLB TS 21 still locks at 60, and Madden 22 still locks at 60. So that bolds well for us I think.

And I agree, 10-15 years ago display "response time" was more of a thing, but now with current tech, it is not nearly as important as input lag. And good point about "input lag" not being based on just one factor. -
