Can't load other player
-
I made a two way player which I gave up on after a while and decided to make another one (2B up to 95ovr in second season) and now when I load up my previous save for my two way it just shows the 2B, even on the player card and he has all the same archetypes. I almost just want to say screw it and make another player as a pitcher but I'm scared it'll screw up the current saves of my 2B. I have three saves for the two way guy and they all have the same issue.

I’m having the same issue. Lmk if you figure out why

In this year's game, we have two separate entities: ballplayers and career files.
1. Ballplayers
First time you entered RTTS, you had to create a new ballplayer. You chose a play style (Pitcher, Position or Two-Way), an Archetype (two for a Two-Way player), and a position.
NOTE: Once you choose the play style, archetype(s) and position, this ballplayer will be stuck with these choices. Other aspects of the ballplayer can be changed at any time: name, appearance, loadouts, equipment.
You can create up to 10 ballplayers. From the main menu, go to your account (top-left icon), then go to MANAGE to select a different active ballplayer, create a new ballplayer, or delete an existing ballplayer.
A ballplayer also has his own attributes and quirks. The attributes are improved through game play (in RTTS) and through the training missions. If you delete a ballplayer, this progress is lost.
While progressing through the archetype missions, you will earn better archetypes and perks. These are attached to your account, they are not per ballplayer. Even if you delete a ballplayer, the archetype and perks remain available, so you can re-use them with a different ballplayer that has the exact same archetype.2. Career Files
The progress in RTTS is tracked in a career file. When you start the RTTS mode for the very first time, a career file is automatically created along with the first ballplayer. If you want to start a brand new career file, you can use the button for MORE OPTIONS, then choose Load Save File.
When you start a new career file, a team is chosen (as selected, or at random if no team is selected), and the position of the ACTIVE ballplayer is assigned. So, if your active ballplayer is a second baseman, for example, and you choose San Diego Padres as your team, then the career file will be for a second baseman with the Padres.
However, if you load an existing career file, you will continue that career with the ACTIVE ballplayer. In this case, the position of the ballplayer is ignored, and you will play whatever position the career file had.
NOTE: the position of the career file can be altered through gameplay: for example, you might have to switch your Padres second baseman to a different position, when they tell you that the team is happy with Cronensworth at 2B.
If the ballplayer has an incompatible position with the career file, you will get an error, and will be returned to the main menu. So, if your active player is a Pitcher, and you try to load a career file of a second baseman, this will not be possible. As long as the ballplayer and the career file have compatible positions, you can load the career file and continue that career with that ballplayer. The funny part is that the career file will be adjusted to the new ballplayer on the fly: the new player will automatically inherit the stats of the previous player.
When you load a career file, there are several pieces of information you will see: the name of the last ballplayer that made progress in that career file, the team, the date of the last progress, and the timestamp of that progress in real time.
For example:Von Miller, Dodgers Second Base August 9, 2025 Thu Apr 21 23:36:00 2022 3.36 MB
This career file is for a second baseman with the Dodgers, and the last progress was a game on August 9, 2025 with a player named Von Miller. I played that game last night, just before midnight. The file is 3.36 MB (this grows as the career progresses).
If I load this file with my outfielder, Michael Jordan, and play at least one game, then the file name will have some parts changed: the player name, the date of the progress (August 10th or something), and the timestamp. It will still be Dodgers Second Base, even though MJ is a left fielder. To delete a career file, from the main menu, go to settings (top-right), then File Management. Be careful: there are more than career files here!
If you start a new career file with an existing ballplayer, the player's progress (attributes, archetype, equipment) will continue exactly from where you left off. However, the career will once again begin in AA. You can select a new team, but your ballplayer's position will be used for the file. -
Any feedback to the above would be appreciated. I'm keeping it in a Google Doc, ready to copy/paste it until SDS adds a way to sticky a thread.
