I just feel that 21 played way better. I like the perfect pitching area being slightly bigger but why does it feel so much smaller with pinpoint then other ways of pitching. Like if I use meter you still throw stuff on the other side of the plate on decent meters. Pure analog pitching is my favorite but it just feels like I’m at a disadvantage pitching on it because if I messed up Ik I’ll give up a hit (which is fine). Now if I use pinpoint and mess up I just feel like it doesn’t matter that much. I don’t want to use it but feel forced and that sucks.
Hitting this year just feels off. I don’t get how every pitcher feels hittable but I get 9 hits or 10 and feel cheated more then I feel good about hitting the ball. I like that power doesn’t feel needed and that a guy like Tony Gwynn feels useable. But why do I feel like bad swings get rewarded way too often. Like last year if I was down a few runs I felt like I could hit myself back into the game. Now I feel like I need a lucky hit or 2 to get back in. Just stinks because I want to play this game all the time but I’m not going to frustrate myself with annoying or unlucky results. I get the devs want a realistic game but if I can call out to my friends in a party what pitch is coming and the ball barely leaves the bat to be caught or barely get through doesn’t feels that rewarding. Not sure if it’s possible to go back to 21s hitting and adjust it from there but just feel like that would make people less annoyed.
I do like that fielding does matter especially in the middle infield, that is dope.

The CPUs defense is a continuous highlight reel, probably will be patched but admittably makes play vrs Box MLB teams interesting. And the umpires behind the plate vrs CPU is definitely a foe. Man, Marilyn Monroe never got pinched that much?

The cpu defense has always been Spider-Man out there, that’s not new

Yep the insane CPU defense is a “feature”. I have been playing a bunch of offline DD on rookie and veteran and even though I have won just about every game (yes, Rookie in conquest has beat me this year) the CPU has collected every defensive award available.

Things the rookie or vet CPU gold glovers have done defensively my nice collection of FOTF and other nice diamond cards have not done.

    Rob homeruns
Dive on the infield and block hard liners, immediately get up and fire lasers to 1st
Chase down shallow bloops into the outfield.
Routine Willie Mays style extra bases robbing no look outfield catches
Thrown out at 3rd by an insanely accurate RF throw from collecting a rebound off the wall
Every rebound off the wall played picture perfect
Deep in the hole at 3rd leaping falling away gun outs at first
Flashing sick leather at all infield positions immediately snagging 100+Mph hard hit liners
Perfectly collecting a ball in the LF corner and no look throwing to 2nd to snuff out an easy double
40m sprint champ pitchers outrunning my Ricky Henderson to cover 1st base
The absolute pinpoint hose every catcher has to gun down steal attempts
40m sprint champs in the outfield running down hard hit gappers schambi is losing his mind over for routine outs
Any passed balls the CPU catcher knows where the rebound will be AS the ball is passing him. Sigh.

Meanwhile I have made 2 diving catches in the outfield.

You know. I’m glad you brought that up because I have noticed the same things. I actually hit a what would undoubtedly be a double off the wall. I dive into second base, the hand of my base runner touches the bag and wouldn’t you know it, I’m called out. The outfielder plays the ball off the wall and throws me out. How he threw me out is beyond me.

You’re absolutely right on these observations. I have noticed this a lot
