I’m relatively new to the show and have enjoyed playing this game so far. I’m curious what are the most common goals that people try to accomplish in DD. I’m used to traditional sports games in which you play a boring season against the CPU and the goal is very clear: win the World Series.

So in DD, I’m seeing a ton more variety which is great. I think the concept of collecting cards is really cool, but I find myself completing a path to get a card and then I’m immediately onto another a new path to get more card(s) and I’m trying to figure out what my end goal is. So what are some of the common end goals? Or does it not really end?

My goal last year was to try to collect every card in the game. At first it seems almost impossible to do unless you spend money, but as continue with the year the amount stubs you get are quite high. Also completing stuff like Battle Royale and playing enough to get to World Series gets easier later on as they lower how many games you have to play. (Battle Royale goes from 1 win for 1 point to 1 win for 2 points). My goal this year was to get to World Series 900 rating but that seems more impossible than last year and last year was my first year.

There are a number of "goals" you can pursue, it's really up to what you prefer to do.

Collecting cards, your end goal is completing all the sets (Live Series, Legends, etc.), they release more sets throughout the year up until just after the end of the real World Series.

Online play has a few different modes, but the end goal is mostly bragging rights. Reaching World Series level in RS, going 12-0 in BR and the top leader boards in Events and RS.

Then there are "vs CPU" modes like Moments, Mini Seasons and Conquest where it's really just about completing the missions.

All modes give you rewards and XP that can be used towards completing the various programs and collections as well.

personally I have no goals. just going to play the game until I'm not enjoying my time in it anymore. Which will be sooner then usual as RTTS is garbage now a days IMO, so Im only playing Conquest & Mini-seasons.
Hopefully I will last until my team is lvl 5 PXP but not sure I'll make it as going from lvl 4 to 5 is pretty long grind for hitters (since I'm not that great at hitting)

Thats basically what we do here. Grind for a specific card, get said card, plug card into lineup for a few games to see how it plays...then grind for another card that looks better and might fit into our lineup.

If you're competitive the goals are reaching world series in ranked and going 12-0 in BR. And the overarching goals are completing the collections, namely the entire live series to get 99 Randy Johnson as well as the "big collections". The first big collection hasn't dropped yet but last year I believe there were 4, starting with 99 Mariano Rivera in May.

Last year (My first) was to complete every collection and collect every legend and flashback. Those are technically different. You can complete a collection and close it out without having every card. Once I completed the live series collection, it was completely off my radar.

I also wanted to finish BR a few times. Complete every offline program and towards the end of the year, get to P5 on as many cards as I could. I also loved creating rosters and building stats.
