Here's a shocker: I'm someone who actually admits I probably DON'T know how to take full advantage of the market and flipping optimally, etc. Somewhat new to it. Any great in depth guides anyone can recommend to learn the tricks of the trade?
Easiest way is to buy late at night or early morning during the week like Wednesday and then sell on the weekends during the busy hours. That's what I do. I bought jazz xhison last night at 1 am for 17k just sold then for 25k. Rinse and repeat.
I don't buy cards I wouldn't want to get stuck with.

Not sure how to manipulate the prices or keep tabs on them. I really don't buy cards, I just sometimes sell ones that I pull that are very expensive and look to reacquire later.

Just look for margins on anything you can find. Buy low sell high. That's pretty much all. I've been doing it for many years now and it's (usually) a great way to get the expensive cards for collections. Makes obtaining Trout seem doable.

With these being virtual cards I'm not sure how or why their prices change, much less which ones to target.

Same reason the price of anything changes: supply/demand.

But wouldn't that pretty much just come into play towards the end of the season?

Well it could be anything. Not just players. Any item is possible to sell. One thing you have to get over is fear of losing stubs. It is actually pretty difficult to lose stubs. Look around find something small and start that way. As you make more stubs, start buying more expensive items. You'll become a pro in no time. Set some bids, play the game, go back and check, repeat. You can do it.

So today was the first day I actually decided to try and flip for this new game cycle. If you’re ok with 1000-2000 stub margins then I think the market is starting to open up. Mainly flipped the anime cards today and probably netted a little more than 50K over the course of a few hours.

I identify a card I want to flip, put a buy order in equal to the lowest order available and next thing I know I’m like 10th in line. How the hell am I supposed to make stubs this year flipping if this is the case?
Separation between cost and profit doesn't happen until the first real stat update, but yeah they did make it a bit tougher to flip for profit

Yeah yeah, and before that they said margins would never increase until full release, then they said when people get further in the program, then they said once people have enough stubs, then they said when Topps now comes out. They've said stub sales, pack sales, collections, full moon, low tide, chinese new year, and now it's updates. The only method from last year that hads't been ruined is the rtts xp lol
Time to face it. Sds doesn't want us all making a ton of easy stubs this year. It's OK we will deal with it. Maybe last yeah was just way to much.

What I said is what happens every year...You always have to wait until a couple sets come out and the first stat update before it becomes really useful
