Or you could look at it as they gave you even more ways to turn a profit. You don't have to wait for someone to jump a tier to make a profit. Buy an 80 gold for 400 and quick sell it at 84 for 1100 stubs.
That makes sense to a point. But then you have that same 84 Gold which is selling for 4K; because people expect it to go Diamond.
It goes to an 85; but now what you just bought for 4K has a QS value of 3,500.
I understand they're thinking. But it adds another level to flipping.
Bottom line; I think they did it because if you were savy enough to catch the right time; you could buy four 79 ovr Silvers for around 500 stubs and the exchange them for a Gold pack and QS that card for 1K.
This exactly. So many players used the exchange method last year. Every roster update last year when gold cards would spike I would have nearly 500 gold packs unopened. Worst case scenario you got a [censored] gold and qs then for 1000.
I don't like the new qs values. Last year, later in the games cycle you could scroll through your inventory and qs all the golds you have earned from packs. Was always good for a quick 30k.
This year the players that are likely to get an bump are already selling over what their qs value would be if they did go up in overall. Imo roster updates were always some if the best days and now they seem diminished.

Yeah but now you can make profits with any upgrade and looking to see who goes Gold or silver or diamond doesnt make much of a difference anymore. A guy going from 82 to 84 can make you a ton of stubs where as before nothing.

Remember when the show was about baseball and not market flipping and trading and exchanging? Pepperidge farms remembers

DD? Not really lol. When I first started it was hard as hell to get stubs. 16, 17 and 18. Last couple years have been wonderful and now they overcorrected it seems. I hardly have any of the teams LS players despite completing all this content. Very little Packs and stubs are few and far between. So now that I have completed the weak 600XP program they initially released I guess I will spend the next couple weeks working the market for stubs. I dont miss doing this a bit.

It's still about that for me. I definitely don't flip at all. But there are some people who seem to want to play it as an investment sim.

yeah i agree with you mate
even this year i find it easy to make stubs - not as much as last year - but WITHOUT MARKET FLIPPING - i have still amassed around 100K in stubs by just playing the game - a few RS games, a few events, a couple of those Conquest to get me franchise program points, a showdown or two - nothing crazy but my team is really exciting already with NMS

This is what I am trying to understand… people spend a lot of time flipping cards while others are playing the game

Maybe that's what they enjoy? What a novel idea...

To be fair, they were straightforward about this in their pre release streams.

They even showed a chart of all the quick sell values so it really should not be a surprise to anyone.

Omg there are still some of us out here yayyyyyyyyyyy!!! Been saying it for years Market is part of the problem with DD. But in the same breath i understand from business side of it. I personally hate it and I don't think team collections should be allowed to be finished so soon either.
Remember when silver hunter strickland was in every bullpen over some of the diamond relievers back when pitch movement was awesome and you could determine outcome of type of hit based off pitch type and location? Ahh the good ol days.

Making stubs from roster updates will be easier than ever this year. The sheer quantity of cards that will pose a profit outweighs the few tier jumps per week in prior editions of the game.
Imagine the profit margin of an 80 gold jumping to an 84 gold? Stonks baby!

Seems like an odd way to enjoy a baseball game
