Why would SDS make it mandatory...

Why would SDS make it mandatory to go through the entire program of Moments to collect all of the Topps Now cards for the Monthly Award card? Last season we go do all of the Moments if we wanted, or could do some and buy some. I hate Moments so I always bought a few Topps Now cards for the collection. It doesn't make sense given that SDS wants to sell stubs and now I cannot use stubs to help me get through the Monthly program by buying a few of the Topps Now cards. Sure they are sellable, but buying them doesn't help you get to the Monthly Award card. You have to also earn the program credits which will give you the cards for free. This is great if you like doing Moments, but plenty of players hate them and will do anything to avoid doing them.

Take a second gander at how the collections and points work.
-
There is a way to not do all the moments and still get to Andre Dawson?
-
There's only about 8 moments in a week. I had only trouble with Steven Kwan and his noodle of a bat. Other than it should take an average player to finish it in not much time. I just don't get why it's such a big deal for some many players.

Is there any part of the Show that you do not like to play? if so, why? Why is it such a big deal?
Any part of any game that I do not enjoy doing is a big deal to me if I am forced to do it to proceed in the game. I guess I do not have to do the Monthly rewards, but my point is that last year I did not have to do as much of what I do not like to do. I guess it will save me stubs though. Less money for SDS and more of me wasting my time doing what I do not like to do.

Because ... they didn't? It's required you collect them all (eventually), but it's not required that you EARN them all if you so desire.
-
I don't see that at all. How do you get to 195 points when the collection is only 40 if you do not do all 4 weeks of moments? You will not even get to stage 2 without doing all the moments for each week.

You literally have no idea what next week will offer or beyond, you're making assumptions and freaking out about an unknown.

Stage 2 starts at a certain number of program points gained. Look above the program time line. It shows when stage 2 starts.

I do know. There are 17 cards to collect and 17 open spots for them. There are 4 weeks of moments coming. What else would you need to do besides those moments for the collection to be necessary to reach 195? Once you get to stage 2 there will be other things besides moments, yes. Notice it says week 1 moments. Do you think there will be something else for week 2 besides moments? I wish you were right, but there will be 4 weeks of moments to move through the program and collect those cards.

The cards are sellable you can buy all 5 right now without doing a single moment.

LOL. I know that. But you will not move up the Monthly Program without doing the moments anyway. Why buy them? For the 40 point collection prize in the Monthly Program? Then you will still have to do the moments. There is no way around it if you want to finish the Monthly Program. Buying them doesn't move the program up more than 40 points for the collection. There is another 145 points to gain. And if there was something coming up later that made it so you didnt have to do the moments, then the collection would become optional if you did do the moments.

Hard to believe you guys do not understand that to finish the Monthly Program you have to do all the Topps Now Moments. Is it the math? Do you think they are going to give you something to do instead of the 4 weeks of moments? When they said you must have the 40 points from the collection to finish the program that set in stone that all the moments are also necessary. And everything else in the entire program. You cannot skip anything. Since you can't skip anything you will not need to buy the cards if you do the program. Sorry I cannot explain it any better.
You have no idea what they will add. They ALWAYS have challenges for each card. They will have them again this year. They may very well make some of those repeatable. So you'll have to hit 500 HR's with Beer, but at least you didn't have to hit one in a moment.....

How are you going to do those things until you unlock stage 2? Moments. All of them.
-
The only way would be if they give us something in stage one other than moments. But Topps Now has always been about doing moments. I hope I am wrong, but the collection being necessary doesn't leave much room for not doing everything in the program that they give us, and 4 weeks of Topps Now cards are coming. I suppose if they gave us something else to do in week2 to earn Topps Now cards, but for Topps Now cards that is highly unlikely.

Do you realize that in order to do those POTM programs you will need to unlock Stages 2 and then 3 ? How are you going to get to those missions until you do the 4 weeks of moments and whatever else there is? Perhaps if those stages were not locked but they are locked behind doing the Topps Now cards first. Look above the program time line. It shows what points you need to unlock stages 2 and 3.

Who cares if it was EA you’d have to pay them $300 for Andre Dawson, you get him free by just playing moments and the game.
