Are mini seasons cracked or is offline just overall hard as sh*t this year

I am playing at the same difficulty offline as last year and so far this year I am 58-13 against the CPU. And many of those losses came early when I had bad pitchers or I had my lineup full of the classic gold cards (many of which have weaknesses) trying to complete their PXP missions.
-
I'm trying to remember that after the first month of last year, I pretty much always had an all diamond team and within 2 months an all high diamond team. I imagine by the time we get to that point we will all be mashing again.
It is weird, I've been having trouble scoring runs against the Braves in the mystery map and then yesterday I got 12 runs in the 1st inning. No, I don't think it was pure skill. He was throwing meatball after meatball.

The All-Star and HOF missions for mini seasons aren't worth the frustration. Just play on rookie and cruise through it.
-
I play on Veteran and am 5-1 in mini seasons and 58-13 overall (counting all the Conquests). Many of those losses came early when I had bad pitching and also when I had lineups full of the gold classic cards trying to do the PXP missions.
So while the CPU may be more difficult this year it does not seem to be by that much, at least to me. I have a lot of practice pitching to the CPU though, in the 6 games I have played in mini seasons I have only allowed like 3 hits.
Fun fact, my one loss was a no hitter for me. it went to extra innings and they advanced the runner on second to third with a ground out and then scored him on a sacrifice fly.

This. They need to up the rewards for the AS and HOF mission as otherwise you are better off just crushing the CPU on Rookie and getting PXP for your cards faster and getting to the next season faster.

That's what I figure I'll have to do. Does difficulty affect PXP for players? As in will Vet give more PXP or should I really just throw it on rookie?

I don't believe there's a pxp difference between rookie and vet but even if there is you'll more than make up for it with more hits and getting through more games faster.

You do whatever you enjoy but there's no benefit to playing on veteran vs rookie you're just wasting 13 losses worth of time.

I have found mini seasons to be a different experience than other CPU games....the hitting seems more difficult on the all star in mini seasons than other modes. I still win, but its just weird why it is so different

Veteran is a 10% bonus. All star 20, hof 30, Iirc. Comes down to whether you can still play relatively as well when you move up difficulties. If you struggle to put up runs and XBHs I'd move down and not worry about losing the bonus pxp from playing up

Actually, I personally feel that I do better on Veteran that on Rookie sometimes.

i felt like this at first, but now i think i was just used to using all 99's at the end of 2021. now that i've got a better lineup i'm hitting all-star as expected. i did hate last year and 2020 how the CPU outfielders would make outrageous impossible catches based on the player who made them, but this year they are making even more extravagant diving catches. maybe that's just me though.

Is it really a mystery why this is? You’re facing good pitchers more consistently. You can’t pick the fifth pitcher in your rotation in order to face some nobody with an OVR in the 60’s and then face a bunch of bronze (or worse) relievers.

Most of them still aren’t as good as the pitchers you will face in Mini Seasons. I’m about to face the Whales again in my season, which means I get to start against 99 Johnson. Know how many times I’ve faced a 99 pitcher in Conquest? Exactly zero times.
The relievers are also mostly much better in Mini seasons. The first reliever I faced when playing the Cubs (think it was the Cubs) in a Conquest game last night was a Common lever player. Pretty much every team I’ve played in Mini Seasons has at least had Dibble. It’s just not comparable.

my mini season doesn't have high ranked pitchers, mostly golds..I started it right when the game came out so the teams aren't stacked. also on the pregame screen a team will have like 7 of the same card in the pictures, but in game it is a regular lineup. The mode just now is letting me actually play games.

“Mostly golds” is still much better than most of the pitching staffs you will face playing the real life teams. Particularly the relievers. You can’t really avoid this point no matter how much you try.
If you’re “just now” able to play games, how had you played enough to know how the mode plays compared to other ones when you made your post?

Because you are playing teams that are pulled off the leaderboards. Players tendencies are a factor.
