SDS Ruined Online Head-to-Head

San Diego Studio ruined MLB The Show 22 with their adjustments to online head-to-head play.
As an avid MLB The Show player for countless years, I can wholeheartedly say SDS ruined online head-to-head.
I should mention online head-to-head is the only game mode I play. I understand the recent focus has shifted to Diamond Dynasty because it's the money maker. However, a portion of us still likes to online head-to-head only.
The option to remove Guess Pitch eliminated a critical strategy component present in previous iterations of the game.
For years, the Guess Pitch option has been a contentious feature among MLB The Show players.
If you don't like it, cool, you can turn the option off. However, a segment of us believes it's a critical component of the game.
Removing the Guess Pitch option turns MLB The Show into a hand-eye coordination game instead of a strategy-focused game with a bit of hand-eye coordination.
For example, your opponent keeps guessing down and away. For the most part, down and away should be an off-speed pitch (slider, curveball or changeup).
I'll keep pounding that part of the plate with off-speed. However, there is a moment in the game I believe I can freeze him with a four-seamer down and away. When he guesses in that spot, his mind is focused on an off-speed pitch. Then, I hit him with the heater.
That is just one of the many ways removing Guess Pitch has turned MLB The Show 22 into a hand-eye coordination game instead of a strategy-focused game with a bit of hand-eye coordination.
If SDS does not revert the option into the game, I believe MLB The Show 22 is the last iteration of the game I'll purchase.
SDS, can you please clarify your reasoning for removing a feature without providing your consumers notice before spending $76. If you agree with me and the many others who feel the same way, can you consider implementing this feature back into the game?

I really liked this online mode last year. I agree with you it has much more strategy than DD online. Not sure why they keep taking features and options away yearly. I know it's not a money generator but why subtract. All we've been asking for in this mode for years is the option to choose jerseys. We don't get that and now this.

So when DD has Events with quick counts those don't count as 'real online rated' modes?
The point the OP is making is why take out options/features unneccessilarily.

Just look at his stats using guess pitch and why was that even an option for a leaderboard where some are using it and others are not? Then you have guess pitch where it's completely random again for a ranked mode.

those are an event in DD. Im talking h2h regular teams where we all should be using same difficulty and settings to climb a fake leaderboard. Some guys ontop I will never face because they play veteran settings or in the past guess pitch

I do like online h2h non DD because teams aren't stacked with all 99s and you have to really know the entire roster. All the good and bad players. It has much more strategy than DD and at least in my experience the other players in non dd h2h are much better to play against - they don't exploit the game and play real baseball.

same here, but kind of defeats the purpose of "online rated" when people are all playing with different difficulties and settings. IMO online h2h needs to have same settings and difficulty across the board

To op u can have guess pitch in online rated. It ask you in the beginning what difficult are u searching for both pitch and hit and if you want guess pitch

I only play online ranked however I never use the guess pitch. It makes the game unrealistic in my opinion. Oh, quick question did SDS make any changes to online hitting or is the game play still B.S.? I am really tired of bogus results with timely hitting on The Show '21.

The hitting is as random as before. If you use zone you don’t even have to put the PCI on the ball to send a nuke out of the stadium. Hitting is pure RNG….just swing away and hope for the best.
