Same for me. Last year was a cake walk. Now suddenly every ball I hit is right at someone. I didn't lose a single game last year vs CPU even on games on Legend and I've already lost one on Vet and AS because this b.s. I've had a dozen 4 or 5 inning conquest games this year too. They've really screwed up gameplay. It is pure trash right now.

Hitting was better a couple days ago. They changed somthing. People will fall out of their chairs to defend this saying they didn't nerf hitting, but it's obvious.
Idk why, but the cynical side of me sees all these "collect pxp" missions and thinks, maybe they nerfed hitting so we wouldn't blow through these challenges. But that's probably not it, as we were going to complete these fast anyway. Exit velo is way down, timing windows are smaller, etc. Christ your lucky to score 2 runs in a conquest game right now.
Its still doable obviously, but it does make the game more boring.
Edit: it's like this every year. Hitting is amazing at release and then a few people start complaining about how online play has too many homeruns (why that's a bad thing I'll never know) because god forbid you lose every once in a while, and then all of the sudden hitting sucks for everybody.
I thought it was just me having a hard time scoring runs. I was having such a hard time today against Seattle! Seattle. Like Cmon! They def did change something.

Yeah hopefully they fix this. Way to much contact on pitches way below the zone. You aren't exaggerating, literally making contact with pitches in the dirt.

I think hitting is a lot more roll of the dice this year. I've seen more P/P swings go for outs and balls on the edge of the PCI go for homers this year than last. I remember SDS showing a .800 average for P/P swings last year. Definitely not the case this year.

I've said since early release day 1 that hitting on Rookie CPU is different this year. The CPU throws way more [censored] and way fewer cookies than last year.
I have no problem winning against the CPU, but it's not 20-0 like it was last year...

But I don’t necessarily agree that gameplay is an L.

This is by far the worst MLB game ever made. Could even be the worst game I have ever played. There is something wrong in every aspect of this game. It’s borderline criminal for them to put out a game this bad and charge money for it. SDS should be ashamed of themselves for taking money from the hard working people, especially during a time when inflation is at its peak.

Also, the the higher rated FOTF pitchers are batting practice on All-Star while a gold Smoltz I can’t control against the CPU becomes legendary in the hands of an online opponent.
I smell a rat.

I'm sorry you feel that way. After last year's 6 months of server crashes, never fixing freeze offs, and countless other glitches, this game is fantastic so far.

Hitting has been easier against human players, but harder against the CPU. That's what I have seen.

I remember 19 being a lineout fest from start to when the game became free. I don’t remember anyone praising it early.

The hitting is too forgiving. They’re afraid of losing players if the game is too hard. Outer PCI needs to go to decrease the random fluke hits that have plagued this game for a couple years.
