With all the nightmare posts flying around about linking XBoxes and Switches to Playstations, I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to do it. Well, I'm here to tell you that it links just fine and there are no problems. I have my current progression on both my PS5 and my Switch. In case anyone needs to know, here is what I did:
- I started MLBTS22 on my Switch and set it up as its own game (including creating a My Ballplayer).
- I accepted the terms and conditions
- I clicked on the icon by my name and clicked through the tutorial.
- I clicked on Link Account under the My Profile Screen
The Switch then generated a code for me to enter into my The Show account.
- I logged into my The Show account and entered the link code.
- I got a screen asking me which account I wanted to continue my progression on.
- I chose my PS account.
- It then told me that there was a discrepancy in the My Ballplayer on my Switch and on the server and asked which one I wanted to keep. I chose the My Ballplayer from my PS5 (the one on the server).
- I then quit the game and went back into it and everything was perfect.
- I logged out of my The Show account and logged into my PS account and checked the marketplace and inventory on the web and everything was perfect.
- I logged into the game on my PS5 to verify and everything is perfect.
It all works just as they said it would. Also, the error I was getting when logging into my Nintendo account (before tonight) on theshow.com now redirects me to the screen showing my accounts and which ones are linked.
Do DD squads combine? If they do, my teams will be scary!

Nothing combines. Your main account is what is played after they are linked (whichever main account you choose).

Ah I see. So Diamond Dynasty inventories don't mix correct?

I set up on Switch, account linked, it showed up on my Xbox, but now it's not coming back from Xbox to Switch. The cloud save data for the Switch is 1/2/1970 and the Xbox is today's correct date. What did I do wrong here?
-
I’ve got that 1970 date on my Switch cloud save too. Though it was my system, but if now it’s probably a glitch. I also can’t load a local RTTS save file from inside RTTS (I can from the main Show 22 screen). Cross fingers this isn’t the start of all RTTS progress crashing one day.

I can't seem to link my account on my Switch to my Xbox. Do both of my devices need to be present with me? Or since I brought my Switch can I just use that to link it? On the MLB The Show website, I login with my Xbox login, but I can't select the option to link to my switch account. Like there is no place to put the code that pops up on my switch in. Can anyone help with that? I'm getting a bit frustrated with it.

When you have them unlinked and you progress in the game, that progression stays on that device. When you link them, the device you choose as your main one will share its inventory with the device you are linking to it. Once they are linked, whatever you do (except buy stubs) will be on the other device too. That is called cross-progression. Nothing combines though.

It doesn't sound like they are linked. If they were, whatever you did on one device would be on the other (except buy stubs - they are proprietary to where you bought them from i.e. PS, Microsoft, or Nintendo).
As far as data save dates, I don't know. I haven't looked at the save dates on my two devices (my PS5 is my main device and my Switch is my child-device).

The only device you need on hand is the one you are linking, and that is only to get the code from it.
On your computer, log into your The Show account (the black and white icon). That account enables you to link and unlink your other accounts. The other accounts will only show you what is linked/unlined.
-
I had to unlink and relink both accounts multiple times, but it seems like it finally took this time.

You will not lose your DD progress or items when you unlink. All of that is on the server. When you relink, make sure you choose your Xbox account as your main account, and then your Switch can be used to cross-progress.

There is a box to enter the code in when you log into your The Show account (the black and white icon at theshow.com).

"I clicked on Link Account under the My Profile Screen"
so I don't have this on my switch, I have started diamond dynasty and finished the tutorial. Any thoughts?

The box to enter the link code is on the web at theshow.com, not in the game. If you don’t have a The Show account, create one. If you do, log into it and then enter the code from your game on your Switch. The step by step directions are in the first post of this thread. I’ve been told that it’s easiest to log into your The Show account from a computer and not a mobile device.

Am I doing something wrong when I try to link? I get to the screen where you are supposed to enter the code. I enter it, and on the website it says the account is linked, but the screen on the Xbox or Switch that says it will automatically go away, never goes away. And If I back out, it doesn't appear linked on the console.
Did you ever get this to work. I am
Having this exact issue with the Xbox. Put the code in the computer, it shows linked. Screen doesn’t change like it says it will and if I back out or reboot, the link never goes they the console despite it showing linked on my show account. And I am
Picking the profile where I have all the progress. -

@OreoRockstar_PSN Did you get your link to work properly?
