PSA: RTTS Grind Method
-
BEGINNER DIFFICULTY is new this year. It's available in RTTS.
Every pitch is a meatball down the middle and your PCI is as big as the screen. You can power swing and hit 10-20 HR in a row.
Put your settings to skip fielding and only bat and you will zoom through the archetypes.
There is way more XP in RTTS than there is in DD. You get way more XP/minute here than in Conquest or other grinds.
Put on Netflix and treat it as extended HR Derby.
Hope this helps some people.
-
And now it's been patched out.
-
They're not gonna patch it. It has a very limited "supply". You can only go through 3 batting sections (Power, Cont, Field) once, whereas last year each individual archetype had its own path loaded with XP etc.
In other words, there's a very finite amount of XP on there. It's a lot, but it will get maximized much quicker than last year.
-
It’s a quick shot of XP, but a huge percentage of the people doing this will be the ones complaining in a week that they have finished the program and are mad their xp is wasted
-
It won't get patched because it's finite, like someone said. And it's there, so you can use it now or save it for a later program. The truth is, SDS nerfed DD XP and made DD itself much grindier (440 innings in RS, e.g.).
There was a RTTS sim exploit that last year that DID get patched out, but this is just using the game as it's designed. Like Coach said last year, "Sometimes you just wanna hit dingers."

400 innings in RS is not more grindy than last years RS program

Beginner was definitely in RTTS last year, but as was mentioned, the archetypes are limited, so it would be prudent to spread the XP out over several feature programs. There are a total of 19 archetype combos that can be grinded (4 pitching, 3 batting, and 12 pitching batting combo) so I would use 2 per program max, especially as there will be many more programs this year, some as short as a week.
-
So after you finish the Diamond program in one type (contact, power, fielding) you can’t grind a different archetype in that type for more XP, am I understanding that correctly?

Sounds boring. I am not that desperate for XP.
-
I'd rather take my time and enjoy the game.

I didn't realize this until I finished the "Bronze", tried to pick another Bronze perk, and saw you can only work through each level once. So, I'm going to "save" my RTTS XPs for the inevitable 2-week program where I'll be traveling and will need "easy" XPs.

I remember the good old days of the xp path in 2020 with the HRD xp exploit.

IT would've been worth it right at launch. PPl that got all 6 of their sellables first probbaly got over 100K. Now they're all between 35-60K. I'm gonna save some of my RTTS and try to be one of the first to sell in the next "featured program".

I'll save rtts for when I'm bored with DD. I actually like to play rtts for realism. I hate the changes they've made to the mode. It was once my favorite.

You can grind all the archetypes, you just need to create new Ballplayers. It's under the Manage Ballplayer menu. Not a very intuitive interface at all.

Agreed. The ballplayer XP path is buried so badly that I have to believe SDS doesn't want us to see it. No other reason why it would be so hard to find.

This methods works but is super boring. I will say the one advantage of doing this method that is underrated is you get a great CAP that you can use in game. And with it being early that CAP can be a dominant player for the first month or so, potentially saving you stubs from having to upgrade that position. I'm also saving some of the XP for future programs but it will be interesting to see how this more limited program effects the supply of equipment. I have sold many of the perks that i don't plan on ever using but kept the equipment. I think equipment prices could stay high all year.

Yup. But that's why you watch something else while doing it. It's simply an extension of grinding on Rookie, which is also not challenging.
