Don't forget that the diamond will be unsellable, and SDS will send them out within 24 hours of me locking all of those cards into a collection, making it essentially useless. At least that's what happened this year lol.

I can’t remember if it was this year or last but the “invalid lineup” got a lot of people. I had to buy a few packs to create a lineup just to get in.
It seems like it’s always something but never the same. MLB 18 with its “access token” the one year everything just moved at about 20% of the normal speed.
Don’t book of work, but definitely be ready if it works because it’s usually does just not super smooth.
Also when it crashed twitch is a great place to be to figure out what’s happening and if you can fix it yourself. Don’t come here for answers lmao, you’ll get a bunch of “must be in your end”

Are they terrible at the start every year? Last year was my first year playing at launch. If nothing else I'll get on an flip some cards and make stubs early.

The early access went mostly fine last year. It was actual launch when servers went haywire. I do not expect it to go smoothly though
This. Early access was fine, but when the game released to everyone, people were complaining about online play a lot. Offline play wasn’t affected to much thankfully.

Yeah I spent like 200k stubs to get Jackie then maybe 3 days later the prices tanked from 50k each to around 15k. Lesson learned. That and Alex Reyes never got an upgrade. No telling how many stubs I sank into his cards, and how many chance I had to make my money back. TA3 released, he got a diamond, and the live series never return to value.

I may have some revisionist history here, so please someone help clear a foggy mind if that is the case:
Early release weekend was fine Thurs-Sun, it was the 4/5 release that caused server issues. Once 4/5 rolled-out, there was a server update (essentially a refresh) at least once a week. If I remember correctly, the server issues last year had to do with:
a. The number of people playing (just added MS to the mix...this year we have the switch)
b. The game saves basically everything to the cloud, this was causing crashes when loading from a game mode to the menus. -

I expect to log in at midnight tomorrow and open my packs. The servers will not be stable enough to play a game so I’ll go to bed after selling.
There’s a good chance the marketplace is SLOW AF too. It was hard to flip cards during certain hours during the first couple weeks. Gotta use the app.
