In capitalism, there is a free market, and the laws of the market (supply and demand), determine price. If a commodity is scarce, you can expect it's price to be higher than a commodity that is common.

In communism, nothing costs anything, cause the government provides it for you. But then nothing gets produced, cause why break your back to produce something if the end result is the same? And supply falters, demand stays strong...prices do not rise though - the commodity just cannot be acquired at all.

I know that it's considered unAmerican to be into capitalism these days, and that communism is all the rage and I should get on board. But here's why I can't:

Ever try to buy a Trea Turner lately? You can't. His price is totally affordable in theory, just 1 million stubs and no more, but supply is 0, so that 1 million isn't a real price.

Ever try to buy a Vlad Guerrero Jr. lately? You can't. His price is totally affordable in theory, just 1 million stubs and no more, but supply is 0, so that 1 million isn't a real price.

Ever try to buy a Harmon Killebrew lately? You can't.

I can and might go on.

I think you might need to go back to school and take an Econ class.

As to the problem at hand, why don’t you just play the event and get the card(s)?

What a terrible take. Let's say the ceiling was raised from 1 million to 5 million. The supply would still be low and there would be a line at 5 million. I wouldn't sell you my Trea Turner for 100 million. Its one of the best cards in the game and there are no new cards coming out, so why do I need more stubs?

If you want the cards, play the event and hope you get lucky with the pack. Compared to previous years, it has never been easier to get every card in the game.

The ceiling is there for a reason so people don't abuse the system. The solution isn't to raise the ceiling. Ideally, SDS would have included guaranteed choice packs at intervals within the reward path in order to help alleviate the line.

You said it yourself, supply and demand. Demand is high while supply is very low so hes max price. When supply runs out, it runs out, its never infinite. If SDS just handed Trea out to everyone, you'd have him, but then would you be upset because everyone did? Its a video game bro.

Communism is all the rage? Tell me. How many people have you personally heard support communism? How many politicians? The 1950s have been gone for a while. Give up the McCarthyism.

Also, communism is a form of government. It is not an economic system. Perhaps you are confusing it with socialism, which exists to some degree in every developed country in the world and has for quite a while.

Technically, you're complaining about price controls, not communism vs. capitalism.

I think you might need to go back to school and take an Econ class.

As to the problem at hand, why don’t you just play the event and get the card(s)?

You mean….get a chance to get the cards. The packs contain random choices.

Or you could have looked at the schedule and hopped on the app for 15 seconds while in the bathroom at work or on a break and put a buy order in the day they were released.

-"But I don't have time to play on the app."

But you have time to earn the several million stubs it takes to buy all these players?

I do wish the event packs were not just a chance and that if you put in the grind you get the cards but let's not kid ourselves. They have made it incredibly easy to obtain every card. I've won a total of 11 event games all year and only 8 RS games but I managed to get Trea, Trout, Vlad, Judge and all the rest............wait for it...............

.......except ALOMAR!!!! And no I'm not bragging. I just made sure I had the stubs and put in my buy order in as soon as they went live. Even people who put their order in by the end of the week like I did with Vlad and Judge still had their orders filled.

Um, wow ok then. All I said was the packs are random choices in response to the other guy who implied all you had to do was play the event to get the cards. I was clarifying that it’s not a guarantee you’ll get a desired card. Thanks for sharing your story though.

Sorry, I wasn't intending to reply to your comment. This was meant for the OP who we get on each other's case from time to time. My bad though.

And I do agree, I wish the packs weren't all choice packs. Especially at about 50 wins and beyond.

Agreed, especially this time of year.

There are a handful of players on here who dominate Events like @raesONE_PSN who never got Trea despite finishing every event since he Trea was released. That's a problem. I am fine with making it hard but if you complete an Event rewards path, why can't it be like BR where you have your pick of every former reward.
