I have a serious question

for all the players that constantly complain about RNG.
If you think, and I used that word for a reason, that this game has outcomes that are affects by RNG and it bothers you; why do you all keep playing?
Using the 'it's the only sim baseball game out there' excuse is getting old.
Madden is the only football game out there and I stopped playing when issues would arise.

Because they need something to complain about.

I like the folks that complain about Predetermined Outcomes...and then blame RNG.

Some people enjoy complaining. Makes me think of this Dale Carnegie quote, “Any fool can criticize, complain, and condemn—and most fools do.”

Simple answer to years of debate.
Make 2 separate modes for RS at least. It would be interesting to see which one was preferred/most played.
To answer your question though. I play and deal with it every year, but they ask for feedback so I, and others, provide it to them.

I like the players who act like they’ve never been screwed over in this game and hate on the players who call it out.

I guess I just don't understand taking it so seriously. I played a game this morning and Pujols hit the ball hard 4 times and got out 4 times, meanwhile I got sawed off a few times with Grady Sizemore and was early on each AB and still got 3 hits. This game is as real as I can imagine a baseball game being and those moments where there's RNG don't bother me in the slightest. Because it always seems to shake out in the end. In real life the best team doesn't always win but they win more often than not.
To the OPs point, I do sometimes wonder why people complain a lot but still play the game. However, there's nothing wrong with a little griping now and then. Some people tear the game to shreds but still play religiously and that makes absolutely no sense to me. Most of us love the game but we all get frustrated at times and have little tweaks we'd like to make to the game
As for this RNG business, from my experience this year, the outcome is mostly based on the input but just like real life, I may smoke the ball and someone can catch it. That's baseball. Ask Pujols or any other HOFer if every ball they hit "perfect" went for a hit. That's why they hit .330-.350 on their best days.
I know someone may chime in..."this is a video game, not real life" but the purpose of the show is to play as close to realistic as possible. If you want a true video game experience divorced from reality, I hear Elden Ring is pure .

Or perhaps they understand math, are aware of their own cognitive biases, and have the maturity to not see themselves as a victim when something doesn’t go their way.
Sometimes RNG benefits you, other times it doesn’t. Try to pay more attention to when it does and you might have a more accurate perspective.

Some of us don’t want to have to rely on getting lucky with the RNG to win a game. It’s our opinion and we provide SDS the feedback they ask for.

There is constructive criticism and then nonsense whining disguised as just criticism. In my opinion you tend to lean towards the latter. The things you ask for are kind of ridiculous. Every perfect or good contact being a hit would be terrible

I’ve offered numerous ideas/suggestions along with my criticism….that makes it constructive.
Why would rewarding user skill be terrible?

Ridiculous and unrealistic ideas don't count as constructive criticism. I've already answered why rewarding it at the level you want would be bad you just refuse to actually comprehend anything anyone else says. If you want football scores either go play Madden or put the game on casual mode and play on rookie.

Everyone gets screwed on all video games. And in real life for that matter. Can you give a specific example of what you're talking about. One of the main ones I hear people complain about is line outs. Line outs happen in real life. Every singe game players smash the ball and it goes 100 mph directly to a player, who catches it. Is it frustrating as hell? Yes, it is. But it happens.
-
It’s more the fact there was less RNG in previous years. MLB 16-17 had virtually none, the game did what happened. Then the game started to do things that weren’t happening. Which is when a significant amount of players did quit, including the best player. I would ask why people would want it the other way?
Regardless this old, boring [censored] argument about RNG doesn’t come down to just line drives or HRs. The ENTIRE game is either simulated for you with diving catches at third base or one button when hitting. It needs as much non RNG as possible. It’s not an phone game it needs skillgaps and there tons of ways to do it. Outfielders literally run through each other, why not have the USER need to call a player off or have a USER based error as a result? Because RNG causing 99 overall fielders random errors one play and morphing through one another the next is somehow better? Because the game should do things that aren’t happening?
Saying it out loud sounds pretty dumb but if that’s the side your on that’s pretty cool too, it’s 2022 be proud of who you are.

I actually think the game needs to reward more average PCI placement and swing timing. On HoF and Legend it is very difficult to get a hit, even with pretty good PCI placement and timing.
I think what frustrates people is that getting a perfect swing is difficult, and when they finally get one, they don’t want it to be an out.
I’m okay with perfects being outs sometimes. I just want it to be easier to get hits in general.

I think you’re onto something. I think when SDS showed batting averages by difficultly legend/HOF were like .220 and .180.
