Biggest improvement they can make to Showdown so everyone’s happy IMO

Not a bad thought, but to me, the problem is not the difficulty. After all, the first three challenges are on veteran.
Now, if it were 2016 veteran, it would be a different story, but 2020 veteran cpu pitchers are very stingy and then of course, there is the good/ok.

Either this, or give the rewards gradually rather than an all or nothing approach. Like give 1 voucher for the first boss, 2 for the second, and 3 for the last or something like that, and if you skip to the end then you get them all anyways. If they did any of this then I'd be pretty happy.

Then there would be no point to go all the way. Itll be waayy faster to beat the 1st showdown, get my ticket, forfeit and go back in. Rinse and repeat.

Not a horrible idea but if the final showdown is on rookie, I’ll gladly skip to the end right away. Doing a showdown 5 times on rookie is easier and faster than doing the whole thing once for 5.

LOVE this idea. I am currently stuck on the AL West. In 3 tries, I've lost to Ohtani twice and the first showdown once, and I've lost a total of 1,000 stubs. If I could have gotten a few vouchers for my trouble so far, it would have been worth it.
I really think they need to eliminate the entry fee all together. I get the fee for Battle Royale because the rewards can be amazing, but you're going to charge us 1,000 stubs when the total rewards is around 3-4k?!? Doesn't really make sense to me.

This would be the best way to do it.

I think the problem is with the change in difficulty more than the level of difficulty itself. Players are accustomed to their normal difficulty level and are forced to play at a different difficulty level without the time to make the necessary adjustments.
With increased difficulty, hitting approach needs to change. A player used to veteran difficulty cannot be successful on all-star without being more patient. Not only that, but swinging at a first pitch, even if it’s a strike, is not likely to result in a positive outcome, whereas on veteran difficulty, the pitch count is of less importance. That’s not something a veteran level player is used to considering, and there isn’t much of an opportunity to make adjustments in your approach since the games are do or die.
There is no downside to a selectable difficulty showdown with scalable rewards. Better players playing on higher difficulties are rewarded with more vouchers. That is more or less how the affinity rewards for MTO work.

For you that might be true, but remember it still costs stubs, so to make those back you'll still need to progress further. Also, top level players will still play to the final showdown most likely to maximize their rewards and XP gained.

I'd settle for some kind of checkpoint system to be honest, even if it cost stubs.

Idk. I see no problems with Showdown. Even if you dont get tickets, youre still earning a few stubs and packs.
-
if they take the stubs to play out I would try it again but i don't see the reason behind that.
-
As of right now. All veteran and one all star gives you 5 affinity vouchers. So only getting 1 for playing on rookie wouldn’t make much sense
-
We are picking cards. This mode was invented with the idea that we would have IE boosts...and the pitchers would have IE boosts/dips as well. The intent was that there would just be certain days where you might want to go up against Verlander because his IE had him playing down. This isn't the reality are living in and its not like the developers could have foreseen our current circumstance.
That being said, your idea of scaling the difficulty is a solid one. I hope someone at SDS reads this and knows how to write the code for it to happen.
-
Ill deal with the difficulty. I have said it before. I love the concept but its a major turn off that you have to use stubs to play. Most people will fail their 1st few attempts. Next you know you spent 3k to 5k in stubs. Regardless how 1k in stubs is nothing to most people including myself. Ill play only 2nd inning & so on for the stars but thats it.

Well if you’re good enough it’s a win win. Stub gain and TA cards and packs. It has good value, maybe even too much value but don’t let them hear that lol
