RTTS oddities in The Show 20

Playing my TS20 RTTS left fielder for Tampa in the year 2024. Up against the Yankees halfway through May and I notice two strange things occurring:

• Gerrit Cole (80 rating) comes in off the bench and pitches 1.2 innings twice during the series. Hasn’t started a single game all season. Looking at their roster he’s a permanent bench player. He’s listed as a SP but has pitched 53 innings (8th in the AL, only seven inning behind the leader) in 17 out of the Yankees 42 games without making a single start)
• Dinelson Lamet was starting pitcher two days in a row, 5 innings each game.

The first one (Cole) I assume is a regression thing, at 33 years old and the game regresses players fairly significantly over 30 I believe. But that second - two starts in a row, I wonder how often that happens in the game for that player or any others.

Anybody have similar anomalies in RTTS?

I have anomalies with my own RTTS character. Such as he's a 2-way player in the Show 2020. I created a SP but used all the hitting equipment. Pretty soon I was playing LF between starts. Similar to Othani's rest in real life. What sucked is I was used more as a hitter than the Ace of the staff in playoff games. I'm a much better pitcher by far. Wish you could have more control over your players to start on 3 day rest in playoffs.
