I've never been more excited about The Show dropping before mostly because of all the Phillies updates but I am really turned off by baseball this year. I'm hoping that fan bases across the country show the owners their frustrations.

The owners have countered offered but both sides are not willing to come to a comprise, The players are being demanding for what they want while the owners have comprised but it is not good enough for the players. This is not just on the owners the players are choosing to not play instead of finding some middle ground. The owners are not giving enough to what the players want. There are two sides here not just one if both want to stand the ground on what is at stake then it is on both sides. They need to meet in the middle but that does not look like it will happen.

The owners are not negotiating in good faith. They're the ones that decided not to negotiate for months and then put a hard deadline on it. The owners are the ones who spun the media so that the MLBPA looks bad. The owners are also the only ones who benefit from there not being a full season.
We are not watching top prospects play spring training right now because of a disagreement on the luxury tax. The luxury tax is not something the owners even have to pay but it adds pressure from fan bases who expect their teams to try to be competitive. But instead we get 15 or so owners who do not care in the slightest if their franchises are successful.

I totally understand what you are saying and agree. The players do need to come to a compromise with the owners because the players will lose out in the end. It does suck for the fans. I know the luxury tax is what is causing the lock out, That is the biggest issue on the table. What I read is the owners are at 18m and do not want to increase that amount but the players are at like 33 mil with it increasing over the years. What I do not understand is why they both sides can not meet somewhere around 25 or 26m. The players think it is close to be like a Salary Cap and that is what they are against.

What they should do to save the season is come to a solution just for this year, and hack it out though the season to come to a long term deal before the start of next season. If they do not make a deal by the end of APR or May I do not think there will be a season at all. This is the only sport I watch and follow now. i Stop watching Basketball after Kobe retired and Football from about 5 years now. I do watch the Super Bowl every year but that is it.

Didn't they already have the opportunity to do that this/last year?

yes they did but no agreement was made, What I am saying it to make a short term agreement for just this year so there is a season and build off of that.

Once 30 games have been canceled, (the threshold for teams having to pay back T.V. station rights), the owners will prob cave.

Maybe we will see. Even if the players get what they want the owners would still be able to sign any player and still not be competitive, Giving lower graded players more money in there contracts then signing big name players who want a big payday and want to sign for 8 to 10 years. Those small market teams are still not going to do that, they will spread the money out over lower tier players. The players want these small market team that are not competitive to sign vet free agents but some of them do not deserve the money they are seeking. Why sign a 33 year vet when they can use there minor league system and bring younger talent up to the majors. Will the 33 year vet make the team better yeah maybe but how many games will that player help a team win, I would not like this but if you want teams to spend money on better players then have more teams in the playoffs. Some teams just do not have good scouting and have a terrible farm system. Where as other teams are more successful with scouting. I might be wrong in my points.
-
Here is another solution if this is about the players wanting teams to be competitive then if a team like the Pirates or KC lose an avg of 90 games over 3 years they will lose revenue sharing. They could do something like that every year after that they lose more revenue sharing. It would be opposite of the luxury tax that the dodgers yankees and whoever else is paying to have a great team. This would force owners to spend on players

Latest thing I just saw is a possible 14 team playoff. That's basically half the league making it, too much in my opinion.

14 Total or from both leagues?

Home many games in a series, The DS is best of 5 what would the next round be 5 or 7?
-
@dbarmonstar_PSN
My guess would be they eliminate the one game wild card and make it a series again. Top team from each league goes straight to division series.
Wc round: 3 game series
Division: 5 games
Championship and WS: 7 games -

The players actually already proposed that concept, and MLB flat out said it wasn't going to happen
-
Yeah I'm 44, this is easily my least anticipated season ever. And in return MLB the show. I wish that fire and excitement was still there. It was fine last year. But that CBA stuff, and the decline of online play of the show have really diced me up.

Between Elden Ring and the owners being complete assholes, my hype for this game pretty much died.
