With what happened yesterday, I think it’s time for the players union to absolutely eviscerate the owners. By this, I mean using their position to sway congress into removing MLB’s anti trust exemption. By doing this MLB would lose the ability to suppress competition. The owners have proven to be nothing more than snakes in the grass and have little interest in improving the game on the field. They would rather continue raking in the profits then improving the product that we all enjoy watching. As much as this hurts to say this, the players should at this point cease negotiations altogether and cancel the upcoming season until the owners prove they are willing to negotiate in good faith rather than trying to crush the players union. Also, the players should move to make the minor league players part of the union basically taking away the owners ability to generate any sort of revenue for the upcoming season. One last thing, the union should make the demand that for them to return to field that Rob Manfred is fired and banished from baseball for life. He is everything that is wrong with the owners and should be punished just as the owners are punished for their roles in this situation. This is a sad situation but desperate times seek desperate measures. Feel free to share your thoughts on this situation.

If the minor leaguers were in the union then I might actually care which side wins because those are the guys that need the most help. Right now it is just two sides of unrelatable rich people wanting a bigger piece of the pie.

All I know is that everyone who reads whatever it is you say needs to make sure to fact check everything. You're easily the most biased and misinformed person around here, and people should be aware of that before they try to engage in a debate with you about anything.

This helps them in the long run. This CBA is directly for those guys.

Also Rob Manfred is an advantage to the PA. They universally hate him and can use it as their motive to stick to their points. I've already stated I think we miss the entire 2022 season, and I still firmly believe that to be true.

Sadly I agree with you about the 22 season. I don't see how baseball will recover this time if an entire season is cancelled. The fans deserve better than this.

While I get it I honestly hate that mind set. Boo hoo they make more money than us. In context tho the players are doing the bigger share of work and putting their bodies on the line while getting pennies compared to the owners. Anyone would be upset about that

You are right, it's definitely the lesser of two evils in the Richie Rich world. I don't think a anyone sides with the owners here. But come on. Kirby Yates hasn't pitched a game in almost 3 years and he's made millions. Max Scherzer will make more money pitching 1 game than a school teacher makes in 15 years.

Players are incredibly greedy and egotistical too. Lindor got 341 million, exactly 1 more than Tatis so he can boast being the highest paid shortstop in the game. And you know Correa has that figure in mind. You're telling me that's not a symbolic million, does 1 million dollars really mean anything when you're in those figures? It's a greed and ego game. They all want their bag.

I agree teachers should definitely make more money but it's not Max Scherzer's fault that they don't. Yah some players are definitely greedy but you also have to think that some of them probably don't have a huge money making plan for after baseball. They are just trying to get their money now so they can be set and take care of the next generation in their family. They also don't know if they will get injured tomorrow and never have the chance to make that money again.

My brother in law is one the managers of concessions for the Orioles and Ravens so I wonder how he’s going to deal with it. He does get other work when there are other events like Billy Joel coming to Camden Yards but I’m sure it’s going to put a good dent in his paycheck if there is no baseball.

It goes both ways, these are grown men who are acting like babies on both ends. I don’t pick a side because both are at fault here for not being level headed. Crying over millions.

Hundreds of millions. The owners literally lose nothing by just agreeing to the players demands. Players demands them set up the future players of the league.

I was actually hoping greed would prevail in that the owners will realize they'd lose far more money by canceling some or all of the season than by capitulation to the players, and their greed would force them to compromise. I do think they both should concede a bit but starting tomorrow, they will have new things to argue, like how many games to play, how much money the players will get paid for an abbreviated season, will there be any minor league games? The game we all love is in quite a bit of danger right now.

Oh there will be a full minor league season because the minors don’t fall under the CBA. That’s how the owners can afford to play this game of chicken because while they are stalling and negotiating in bad faith the minors will be providing the revenue for the organization and I presume we will be watching a lot of minor league baseball to fill the void that would normally be taken by mlb which will provide the owners even more additional revenue.

Only players on the 26 man roster fall under the CBA. Anybody at the minor league level has no CBA protection
