I'm sure Franchise is in the game. With nothing rolling over they probably figured a few DD modes was the easiest to throw out for the test. I do miss the days when franchise was actually a priority in sport games tho.
I know, this is probably the one gaming company that puts it last and there’s EA… In sports the main goal is to with the World Series which can be accomplished in Franchise, you don’t see the real life Dodgers playing for “packs and rewards”

Hoping franchise is in the game I'm a solo player. Playing Dynasty right now. For what we got to try not bad. But I play franchise more than anything. Did notice couldn't change camera once into the game like you use to. Hope it's just because this is a test. Wondering how play by play will be this year

Franchise is going to be in the game bro.. Just untouched. Next year will probably have new/better updates.

Franchise is in the game. It was confirmed in the Nintendo switch trailer when they showed the menu screen. Unfortunately probably no new updates for it though
-
Franchise is not in the tech test.
-
Why are we assuming there are no new updates to franchise? Let’s see what unfolds during these streams over the next few weeks before we pass judgment.

After several years of exactly that reasoning, the rest of us realize now that if they don't jump up and down and scream about it, then they have done nothing to it.
It is an on-line game now, I would not be surprised if Franchise goes the way of Season mode a few years ago. I tried "March to October" for the 1st time, it was bad, and seemed close to the antithesis of what a franchise is supposed to be. Play two innings of a game and that has an effect on the results (that you have no part of) for the immediate future. What a terrible mode.

...and I played a 29-game season to start every iteration of MLB the Show to get used to whatever changed. To think that "October mode" thing replaced seasons...
That should answer everything you need to know about their dedication (or even slight contribution) to the world of Franchise people.

I used an entire Spring Training in TS21 Franchise for the same reason. It’s a good way to get used to the new batting changes.
Didn’t get far into my regular season before I went back to TS20 RTTS.

Yes, but the 29-game season was soo good because it was 1 vs. every team, and then you could do a mini-playoff for fun! Didn't have that ridiculous amount of subbing either, each game was played like a real one.

True, I miss season mode too. Used to do 7 inning games. I think. It’s been too long.
I just wish Spring Training in Franchise actually felt like Spring Training. Specialist commentary and other in-menu type presentation aspects, roster flexibility, that kind of thing.

Like I said I think franchise will be in the game. But I don't see a lot of changes unless the long time franchise players really rattle the cage.

We have been since DD was brought around...and have been ignored each year repeatedly.
March to October "started" as a revamping of Franchise...It really is bad.

I've been watching videos of content creators over the last few days. I've reached out to a few of them and may be collaborating with then in effort to bring some attention back to the mode some time after launch so we have all the information possible.
Don't get me wrong I understand DD is the cash cow. Hell I play DD too. But I primarily love franchise. A few simple upgrades is all I want
